Machida, Shogun, and Rashad are great fighters to watch that represent their disciplines really well, regardind Karate/Jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, and Wrestling. Although Shogun will be rated higher, I wouldn't underestimate Rashad's smarts and wrestling abilities. Machida did take down Shogun at will, but just got desperate in the stand-up game. I think Rashad will go to his strengths - the ground game.

Personally, while Rua is a LHW I believe he would knock Fedor the fuck out. Not a Fedor vid, I know. But Rua, Silva, Machida and (alot might disagree) GSP should be considered for 'pound for pound' best fighters. Fedor is good, not great.

i was thinking about this, and i dont understand why shogun got a title shot in the first place, when he got the title shot at ufc 104 he was 2-1 in the ufc, he beat mark coleman, not very hard to do, and chuck liddell when he was old as fuck and not very good anymore, that doesnt seem like enough to get a title shot

Shogun isnt a nobody like Brock Lesnar who just entered the MMA universe and gots his title shot after 2 or 3 fights, Shogun was allready Champion at Pride FC. I think we should take that into consideration.

Machida, Shogun, and Rashad are great fighters to watch that represent their disciplines really well, regardind Karate/Jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, and Wrestling. Although Shogun will be rated higher, I wouldn't underestimate Rashad's smarts and wrestling abilities. Machida did take down Shogun at will, but just got desperate in the stand-up game. I think Rashad will go to his strengths - the ground game.

Shogun's ground game is alot better than Rashads.
Shogun has great sweeps from the bottom and Rashad has terrible top control even as a wrestler. He will get swept and GNP'd for a KO

explosive, he beat machida 2x and knocked out machida the 2nd time..he beat rampage and he beat chuck liddell he beat ricardo arona, he stomped and soccer kicked 6 guys.. I just am not sure how shoguns 3rd knee surgery will be for him, it will mean rashad will have trained longer, not to mention rashad has greg jacksons camp behind him
