  • Well there ALWAYS IS SEGA CD OR 32 X

  • Sega was way ahead of their time... Especially with this one...

  • Sega... We know you refuse to make a Dreamcast 2, but at LEAST put Sega Channel back up...

  • Sega actually should bring back Sega Channel its a shame they leave it behind after so many years.

  • Sega channel brought back some of the best memories. You've got to remember at the time we didn't have steam and gamefly. It was blockbuster, family video, etc, so being able to get a lot of games for like $12/mo is cheaper and you get more.

  • Just think that you finally bought a subscription for this in 1998 and one day later it closes. Ha, you'd feel sorry for those people who only got to experience it for like six hours or so.

  • @Joemamma69000 I only played with it for a few hours. Never had a genesis, so it was someone else's.

  • This is funny, it's like your waiting for it to come back! >_<

  • I remember one day I turned mine on and got the attention screen I called the number just to hear that it wasn't supported anymore. I had only owned it for 4 days. FUCK

  • @HAPWorldwide LMAO sorry but that was funny

  • Dfg

  • i think they should make new genesis games, the sega genesis rocks still to this date seriously!!!

  • Gosh, I remember them days, and the cut off date when N64 took to stage and officially ended the 2 year reign of the Sega Channel.

This was nice to see the very early stages of video game downloading...Not to mention off a cable modem. The Internet today still can't give you everything you want like Sega Channel did, even if they did, it wouldn't be $14.95 per month.

  • Make sure to call your local cable company about the connection issues. :)

  • "Your Sega Channel adapter is not receiving a signal".

That's because there's no signal to receive anymore. Makes me wish I could have had this during Sega's heyday. Even when you can buy all the cartridge games or download ROMs it isn't quite the same.

  • I hated that damn "ATTENTION!" screen. It used to always show up whenever there was the slightest thing wrong with the cable.

  • Just download the complete rom pack from a torrent site. Now you will own every sega game ever made! ;)

  • It would be cool, if Sega would even just put this available on new game systems like Wii, PS3, or XBox. Sign in, and it goes back to the Nostalgic areas. Sega Channel was the earliest way to determine Ingress (Or noise interference) in cable lines. This was when cable companies were more primitive, and basically if you got a picture, you were great. Now everything has to be clean and shielded to work anything with cable.

  • "Yes finally got Sega Channel!" YOUR SEGA CHANNEL ADAPTER IS NOT RECEIVING A SIGNAL "What the fuck!!!?"

  • @xHAZELRAHx the severs are down

  • @nidadip well fuck me...

  • @xHAZELRAHx Is the coax pluged in... lol

  • you need to call you cable provider and complain that sega channel won't work

  • @ZILOGz80VIDEOS

they'd have no idea what you're calling about

  • basically early cable internet, awesome

  • better call up, curse out your cable provider.

  • I remember the cable guy hitting on my mom when he came to hook it up.

  • the one device where i came across some awesome games that i've never heard of before, was very useful since i was really young and couldn't buy many games myself, and not to mention winning a harriet the spy movie contest through it too :]

long live sega channel. i miss waking up very early in the morning on the first of each month to try new games before I went to school :'[

  • Is the sega channel still up?

  • @SuperSuperZ sega channel has been discontinued for years dude

  • hey thanks for sharing...i miss sega and sega channel....good times.

  • Better make that call.....

  • OMG i fuckin hated when u didnt get a signal and u knew u were about to see that damn screen wen the music started playing for mor then a minute lol

  • I remember my brother's friend had Sega Channel through austar(That's an australian cable and satelite company,Sega channel was also in australia in 1995 with 2 providers,Austar and the now defunct Galaxy).

  • what a truly revolutionary device i live in the uk and it might have been avaviable over here not sure was only 5 when it launched but i wish i could have had it

  • what did it do

  • it let you download demos and entire games over cable to your genesis, like xbox live and stuff now. but back in the 90s. lol.

  • How much is the adaptor worth. How much does it usually sell for. I dont even see one on ebay

  • i dunno why but it makes me sad to watch it not do anything....god i miss sega channel

  • Don't feel bad....

  • lol, i feel the same way about the xband

  • makes me feel sad too bro.

  • True that. Man, this brought a tear to my eye. So many good memories. I still have my Sega Channel Adapter as well, never tried hooking it up to see the screen display now. Thanks for saving me the effort.

  • i used to jam out to that title screen music when i was little.

    RIP Sega Channel.

  • but you can't play it now the SEGA channel is died

  • Did you try to connect int he video?

Shame you can't make some up to connect to broadband.

  • cool

  • sega channel is totally gone huh

  • holy crap me too

  • You gotta love the Sonic cameo.

  • you still have your Sega Channel adaptor....wow, I threw mine out years ago.lol Why don't you just download a Sega Emulator on the computer and play Sega games like that?

  • They wanted my adapter back :(

  • Or let us have it for free :) and just keep it random every month but I know that wouldnt happen but what a gift it would be I think they should though I would so give them alot of credit for even trying :) They had alot of great games in my oppinion

  • I think they should have sega channel playable through PC order a like 10 buck a month subscription and just have all games up on there :) I would so pay for it

  • if only there's a way to make that playable again.

  • @cbuc815 I KNOW HOW!

keep screeming at sega to put it back.

    and make consoles >:D

  • @cbuc815 If SEGA CHANNEL was an actual channel, it might have been a datacast, if that was the case, taping the channel and playing it back could feed some data to it.

  • I used to have one of those when I was a kid. I had it through mediacom cable, but I don't remember what there name was back then. I rented it through them though so when they canceled sega channel I had to send it back.

  • Wow, that must be a collectors item! Could you upload a better quality version by any chance?

  • oh man that sucks that it doesnt work, that must be so annoying not being able to play it. I regret never having one. Who knows maybe theyll bring it back through the newer systems online somehow. I miss the old days :[

  • They wouldn't forget yophilly17. Remember when the Sonic collection games were made? Or how about when they decided to bring a few 'old friends' at the time (i.e. NiGHTS)? So even though it seems bleak, there is a way to experience it again (like with Wii's "Punch-Out.") :)
