  • lady at bottom left corner was freaking me out....

  • lol he's playing the bass like a cello

  • hahahaha he plays it almost as fast as david gerret, and on the BASS!

  • EPIC Pro FACE

  • Is there anywhere I can find a duet arrangement with the bass as the soloist? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

  • i love his facial expression :]

  • this man makes me feel like a total noob when i play my bass and ive been playing for 5 years

  • @leatherfacefan1974 wow you are such a seasoned veteran!

  • @contracat haha thanks

  • that's a huge fatass bumblebee ._.

  • Notice the bass player is better. That's because cello players are too cocky. But this is what happens my colleagues.

  • @venskus2009 not really. I don't really get cocky while playing.

  • well THIS is a bumblebee xD now i see the piece played with double bass, it should be called ...mosquitoe for violin

  • I want the music for this

  • con todo y gestos... que nivel!

  • flight of the huge hornet!!!

  • I want to know this guy... that is awesome and such a spirit..

  • who is this guy? I would love to see more.

  • And then the wind changed...

  • hey how many years are your bass?

  • well well if it isnt the bottomline duo. they played with the port angeles symphony orchestra for the pops concert and i gotta admit that the improve at the end for that performance were so great. it was a pleasure to have you play with us and hope you guys return soon. -selbey

  • haha! great name for the duo!

  • i play upright bass for almost ayear and play pretty decently but this guy can play a million times faster that anyone ive seen

  • This duo was the musical interlude entertainment at the NPR "Says You" show in Seattle. We really enjoyed them, and the "Says You" folks obviously really really liked them too, because on the broadcast version, there's a lot more of their music than is usually in the broadcast. Bravo!

  • I had no idea bass can even be played that fast. It was absolutely brilliant.

  • how the bass was meant to be played.

  • holy jeez.... that was AMAZING!

  • Scariness...

  • wow...i like it :))) u guyz r heka good....

  • lack of a better term. i just jizzed.

  • buenisimo!!! el si que se divierte tocando!!!!

  • Fantastic.

  • David Garrett has the VIOLIN record.....gothiccellist meant a BASS record!!!

  • I bet if I keep practicing, one day I'll be able to make faces as good as this guy's.

  • Get a really, really good mirror and if you stick with it, practice until you are sore in the face, maybe you can!

  • @emilioguarino It's okay, practice the faces cause you'll never be able to play this song in a million years :)

  • Oh my, that's fantastic!

  • I know, just pointing it out

  • OMG that was awesome!!!! I'm a bass player and I didn't even think that it could sound that good that far up on the fingerboard!! Bravo! =D

  • really he broke a record, because the length to the piece is 1 minute 20 seconds.

  • outragous

  • Thats gotta be as virtuoso a double bass playing gets. Blimey!

  • wow, never saw such a virtuos bass-player

  • Love it :D

The guy laughing reminds me of my alevel music teacher :P

  • canned laughter?

  • awesome

  • My bass teacher always used to show off by playing this at my lessons, so I found the arrangement online and learned it too lol.

  • WHY THE PEOPLE LAUGHS?

  • the look on his face and how fast he's playing it

  • Brilliant!! I love it! I'm completely blown away by the bassist!

  • idk how bumblebee is possible on a string instrument. PHEW! nice fingerwork

  • Are you kidding? it's written purely for strings! It's insane.

  • sorry, correction... its written with Flute solos and clarinet too but still the strings get a work out

  • i meant that it's very difficult to play bumblebee on the strings bcos there are no frets or whatsoever.

  • is it just me, or does the french bow seem to move faster?

  • wow, i bet that would be hard to play on the double base,

  • This is amazing. I think that it's so weird that I'm in a middle school orchestra and the only bassist, and so is Tateranater01. Small world :)

  • Yeah, I used to play by myself in sixth grade. Basses don't seem to be as popular as violins.

  • It's so unfair, violins are pretty, but basses are better. Just saying

  • LOL, i'm in a middle school orchestra... i'm the only bass in my orchestra. we have multiple orchestras though... BUT STILL! the irony XD

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • wow! i have NEVER seen someone play the bass that fast in my life! amazing!

  • I was in your situation in middle school. Now I'm first chair in high school, the senior bassist, and I'm taking ti to college to become a bass teacher!

Double bass is where it's at lol

  • music obsession... i like it !

  • I played with Spencer before for a concert and heard this live and well.....I am pretty good as a bassist, but he makes me look like I am some noob just learning 1st position. Yep. There is not much to say besides that he has mastered one of the hardest instruments in the music realm and excelled.

  • Why are people laughing?

  • Watch the video again and look at the expressions on both of the musicians faces.

  • Oh wow how did I miss that?!?!

  • I know huh lol

  • my friend told me about this and i told him it was nearly impossible on the bass but its real

    5 stars

  • same here

  • my music teacher went to school with him

  • hahha, I love this video, it's fantastic. The bassist is Hilarious!

  • my music teacher mr.sawyer went to school with him

  • the double bassist face was so arrogant at the beginning xD

  • yea its not sped up because look at people in audience. there eyes i mean

  • its cool how it looks like its being sped up when it isnt

  • that was amazing! looks so fun to play!

but gosh, it's all the way up the fingerboard n i can only play up to 7th position...XP

  • laughters are the best

    gooD!

  • our school bass probably couldn't play a single note.

  • super very good

  • it sounds so much more like a buzzing bumblebee than a piano/violin

  • it sounds better but have you actually heard a bumblebee fly?

  • hell yeah...i get scared of thm and i no wt it sounds like

  • nice, i like it:-)

  • Buzz Buzz Good Buzz

  • OMGG

    TAHST SOO AMAZING!

  • so excelent the articulation, the tune, amazing !

  • I've tried to practice that piece on the piano and man, I can only handle a few bars!

  • why does that look like it's in fast forward? or are we all just stuck lagging be hide them in this word?

  • it's not fast forward, we just can't keep up!

  • who's the bassist? he's amazing...

  • I nearly shit myself

    that was fucking incredible

  • LMAO omg i know i was going to say the same thing

  • Simply great!

It shows, how much show you can do if you are fit in what you are doing!

  • dis shit it crazy look at the bass it kicken ass

  • WOW!!!!

  • hehe i love this one, i wish i could see the rest though :)

  • my fingers are tired just from watching that, amazing

  • what!!!!??????

    that's amazing!!!!!!!!!

  • Why was the audience laughing? I didn't find anything humorous..

  • The bassist made a funny face halfway through.

  • I second that, is the bassist trying to pull a Canadian Brass act, good bassist though

  • i laugh when i see somethign that awesome

  • WOW! The is inexpressibly impressive! Thank you for sharing!!

  • Many many admirations for this flight of the bumblebee!!! I still can't imagine how difficult is playing rimsky-korsakov's bumblebee on doublebass :D

  • AWESOME :D:D:D:D:D This is my favorite video.... I'm watching it every day minimum one time :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

  • That was absolutely incredible. Such mastery of the double bass makes me want to refocus my electric efforts.

  • Question, Do you play french or german bow? In this piece you are playing the french bow, but in your Ozzy video you were playing a german bow.

  • Why did he start as soon as everyone started to clap? =P

  • The clip is from the middle of a work where the cellist plays it first and while she takes a bow to applause the bass player cuts her short and plays it faster.

  • m(__)m

  • OMG 0:

  • They played with our orchestra! And the woman did the haydn D major with us. They were amazing!

If they read this - CAYSA in Olympia

  • Realy great!
