  • I wonder if he bought the clothes he's wearing at 'Randy River'... :-)

  • wow. Why hasn't he become superstar status over his career ? Awesome player and singer

  • Colin, could play fine rock/blues with the best of them....even when he was a teen. Stuff like this I grew up on....unbelievable to dance to. It is more than a meditation....when one lets go in the dancing and the kundalini moves through the whole body like an unending flow of rushing warm water.

  • This is killer! I feel Colin James and Big Sugar (a group of more great Canadian musicians!) should be international superstars! Unfortunately, their type of music was not the preferred style when they hit the scene. Timing is everything. But they have more talent in their little fingers than many current successful pop stars will have in their whole (short?) careers. I'm not mentioning any names but you know who I mean!

  • he rules justin (justin sucks big time

  • I THING THE BEST LP IS THE -[ BAD HABBITS]

  • Woo-Hoo - LOVE THIS DUDE - MIKE RENO ON STEROIDS!

  • Colin Rocks......

  • one of the most under appreciated singers and guitar players in Canadian history.

I am ashamed when I see people giving crappy artists kudos when one of the true Canadian kick ass artists goes unappreciated.

Colin belongs in the same class as BTO, Brian Adams, Shania, Gordon lightfoot, Burton Cummings etc...

  • love the tone..the guitar wah "moan at 2:42-2:43 is my favorite part..

  • Great Song.

  • If you all argue about the "politics" of opinions without basis in fact, you are insane!

    This is a GREAT musician!

  • the reason he never made it big in the states is hes really good, but not a greatr, i saw him open for bryan adams and i was imprressed but after adams got on he really showed the difference between good and great. but then thats just my opinion!!

  • I have loved him for (more than) five long years.... try 1988

  • I was just 15 when I first got introduced to the vodoo thing. I can still remember her long blong hair.

  • Found out about Colin on a trip to Vancouver in 1990. Bought the first album with this, 5 long years, Chicks' N cars. All I could think was why isn't this guy on the radio all the time in the US? Caught a tune in a movie soundtrack every now and then. Hope to see him live someday. Until then thanks for sharing some of these vids we never saw on MTV. Hope more show up.

  • When I ran from the BC Place in Vancouver 1988

to the old Woodwards building...this song was playing on my walkman ! I bought 2 tickets $16...

5 seconds later the lady put a sign up saying

wanted to see me...if I didn't get my tickets...

  • HOW ABOUT JACK DEKEYZER ON GUITAR ?

he also played guitar in the 80's for the Bopcats !!!!

  • I saw Colin in concert near Toronto Canada in May '09 and he was AMAZING! He played some of his latest material, and all his hits from the past including Voodoo Thing. His band was tight, the sound was clean, and his voice was dead on. He hit every note. I agree that he should have been bigger in the States, and I believe he didn't get near the recognition that he should have gotten even in Canada. I've never understood why he didn't.

  • @haitipete

Unfortunately, he came out at a time in the States when it was all about MTV, and not the music. He's still one of my favorite guitarists/musicians/songwriters.

  • @haitipete man that sucks. to be honest i just hear of this guy today and i'm proud that he is Canadian

  • @haitipete Was that the concert at Casino Rama?..If it was I was there front stage dancing the whole night..Awesome show!!!

  • I never understood why James wasn't bigger here in the States. I remember hearing Voodoo Thing with my friends when it first came out and we were all blown away. And then...he just sort of disappeared from the local radio station playlists to make room for crap like White Lion and Poison.

Argh, stupid corporate radio. Wouldn't know talent if it ass-raped them.

  • I heard him on the radio in toronto last week talk about awesome

  • didnt stevie ray vaughan teach colin james how to play ?

  • didn't teach him how to play, just took him on tour when colin was young, actually gave colin his name. Colin James is really Colin James Munn, but stevie introduced him as Colin James, cuz it sounded better
