i want every one last of you "viva la raza' idiots out there to know i truly believe you are the biggest fools ever. i fucking hate that noise you all say that "brown pride" shit then turn around and go beat up another mexican.say what you want but you know its true im MEXICAN AMERICAN AND I AM JOINING THE US MILITARY soon. you people have no idea how stupid that "raza" shit sounds i cant believe I almost fell for that shit.i guess being young does make you stupid doesnt it? GO USA MILITARY!!!!!
I can't believe I read someone saying "im mexican and imma join." that is absolutely ridiculous. this country is extremely discriminatory towards mexicans. I would never be caught fighting the white man's war. Funny how they want to put all poor/minority communities down but they run to us trying to convince us to DIE first. ha! aint gonna happen here! im too smart for that.
The military and politician enjoy using Latino too becomes their puppet, but a Latino has no business died for a country were there is no justice equal four, then.
thats not true imm mexican no recruter obligates a latino white or black to enlist and also the asvab is what determines the job they will get in the military and the benifits and such thats why all that are wanting to join must do their homework
plus who wouldn't want to join and serve and deffend their country
@locoj13 Well said man! I did 4 years in the marines and 2 tours in iraq no one forced me to go I wanted to join ever since i was 8 so fk what they talking about!!!! HOORAH!!!!
i remember recruiters were in my HS but what the hell im joining im now 22 yrs old i should of joined when i was 18 but whatever still young going to join the US Navy
@latinasdoitbetter1 yeah ive talked to recruiters they are 3 out of 5 where latinos. if you have never even serve in the military you need to keep your dumbracist mouth shut. keep watching family guy boy. keep acting all hard on youtube thats is a white men thing isnt it.
@latinasdoitbetter1 Overall, there are more white people that serve in the military. That's a given. Anybody who has served in the military can tell you that. However, the majority of Latinos are not found in as cooks or janitors, they are found in ground combat units. If you don't believe me, look it up. Here are some references: "What Every Person should Know about War" (2003) by Chris Hedges and two studies that were conducted by the Pew Hispanic Center, titled "Hispanics in the military."
@latinasdoitbetter1 When a person or organization conducts research, there's this thing called sources or references that have to be incorporated into the study to support their claims or premises. Apparently, this is something that you are not familiar with. Just to let you know, they acquired their statistical information from the DOD's website. I guess the DOD is providing biased info. I suggest that you do a little research of your own before you make your ignorant comments.
@latinasdoitbetter1 You're one of those nut-cases. I bet you're probably a member of the Tea Bagger Party because you obviously don't adhere to facts, evidence, or logic; only to the thoughts in your naive brain. I could provide you with more sources that support my claim, but it seems that I'm just wasting my time. Let me tell you how this works. To discredit someone's argument you need proof, something that u r definitely not doing with ur juvenile responses. Nice try, Kid!
@latinasdoitbetter1 Just because you state that something is a fact doesn't make it a fact, genuis. Also, congratulations on winning the fallacy 101 award--you can't support your argument with any proof, so you resolve to using personal attacks. YOu must watch plenty of Bill O'Reilly. I suggest that u better prepare yourself for whomever you try to have another argument with. You obviosly don't know anthing about the contributions Latinos have made to our military, nor do u have any respect...
@latinasdoitbetter1 I don't know what u do for a living, but it's obvious that you have never served in an infantry unit. I served five years in a USMC infantry unit and I can tell you that there were plenty of people of color in my unit--about 40 to 50 pct. Also, the film isn't arguing that "minorities" constitue the bulk of the military, it is simply stating that the militarization of poor urban schools of color is unjust. And I agree. Whether there poor white or purple schools, its wrong!
hmmm. I believe Chicago is also a big market. Many people I know will join the military. The majority are Latino. But then again, most of the people i know are latino.
Supporting Evidence for this argument: Go to a memorial day parade, look at the students participating with their ROTC classes. It is undeniable that the majority of them are of latino background.

Hey genius, you're targeting the Marine Corps. The Army is not the Marine Corps, they're different branches.
