many intros sound alike. this sounds nothing like tool (if you are refering to an open string theme on the very beginning, then you should know that many songs have an intro or a theme like that).

this song is a fusion of dream theater and opeth. both of wich have a distinctive sound and music ID. if you have been listening to these bands, and their former albums, you should recognize this.

no, as far as the intro goes, it does sound a helluva lot like forty-six & 2. Moreso than any other song I've ever heard (even though apparently many songs do it).

After that of course it sounds like a combination of dream theater and opeth, which is usual, considering that the band is a combination of dream theater and opeth.
