I find it interesting they accepted his silver coins and considered its face value only when he paid and yet when he paid his workers in silver coins he was conceived to be doing something illegal by considering it at their face value.

If the IRS doesn't want people to use these coins at face value then they should stop creating coins that are worth more than the face value. This guy didn't do anything illegal. The raid is mere terrorism to deter Americans from paying in silver/gold coins.

To save money is to withdraw it from circulation, which is then taxed on its intrinsic value rather than its numismatic value.
