They were so inovative!! They started playing this music in 1976!!!!!! The Police were just forming...As far as I'm concerned...they are ONE of THE founders of New Wave!! Wish my band had done some of their music...
i danced to this in acapulco.baby´o disco!wow! what fuuuuuuuuun!they actually turned the lights off for the silence of down down.........wow!when the DJ turned on the lights and music it was complete extasis!
@JimboCelt GENIOUS IS THE WORD!at the time i went to so much trouble to buy the records, yep records, not cds!LOL!i was in higscool ,i actually, got a record player(from the school´s library)and since my desk was close to the wall,i conected it and played the record in the middle of class!to this day i can not understand what got into me.just that i had so much trouble buying the record!love them!
@Nipisful That's pretty wacky - what you did at school. I'm sure the B-52s would have been proud. I also bought the records, not CDs. Some uncharitable souls said the difference between the first two albums was that one was yellow and was red. Stood the test of time though. Great vid on here of ' Give me back my man' which I'm sure you've seen. Brilliant. Wish I'd seen them. Maybe one day.
ok yeah probably the greatest rock song ever-(lennon was a fan of the 2"s)but going down to liverpool by katrina andd the waves is a very close second
I swear this really is one of the greatest rock songs ever. It's length and relentless driving beat with all it's little "sections," so unique for 1979. And of course, there was the sheer visual impact of the band. Nothing like it before or since....at least not that I'm aware of.
watched this the night it aired on Countdown, it blew me away, watched this again 31 years later and it still blows me away, what a great piece of history, visually and musically!
please tell me where i can get clothes like that these days where ever it may be in the world ... wotever happened to the worlds fashion !!??... today is soo tame and dull u.u..

Timeless. So unusual in so many ways. Genius. Great contrast of voices, so many phases in one wacky song.
