  • Outstanding performance from the singers, especially Tenor and soprano

  • By far the best version on youtube, no doubt. The tempo is just perfect!

  • So great to see a young guy singing the solo bass part.... I don't know why but I always assume it's sung by an older gent.

The tenor sounds very average, but still great, but all the other parts absolutely amazed me. Lovely recording..... I would love to get a CD or DVD of this concert.

  • I personally prefer Karl Bohm's one. But this one is pretty good too. It's always great to see classical music pieces on youtube. Thank you for putting this.

  • That soprano is excellent!

  • wow. exiting :P

  • The tenor piece is the most vital and epic part in this piece, the soul and corner stone of passion that defines this piece and that guy slaughtered it. Very unimpressed with the lack of heart he put into it. The others were wonderful especially the Alto

  • @kalloused Say, what? His performance sounded fine to me. It's a technically-demanding piece, and he was note-perfect. The fact that you don't personally like his interpretation doesn't mean that it was objectively a "bad" performance.

I wish people would stop assuming that they are the supreme arbiters of the "right" way to interpret musical works. Some people like it one way, some people like it another. This is not a "bad" performance merely because it doesn't suit your personal tastes.

  • @Walton1008 Singing note for note doesn't make it good. Too fast and sloppy. That is one of the most beautiful pieces in Requiem, it is not supposed to sound anything like this. Do a little research and find a truly great recording of this Requiem then you'll understand.

  • @kalloused Actually, I've heard many recordings of the Requiem - some, certainly, very different from this one. But I do not believe that there is a single "right" way to interpret any piece of music, or that a particular performance is objectively "bad" merely because it doesn't suit some critic's personal tastes.

  • This is absolutely adorable ;)

  • THa BASS!!! beautiful sound on Sonum

  • @LovvaBoi Yes but when I hear him I think he's singing a romantic aria!

  • Francois Lis is super""""Még hallunk róla remélem..

  • It sound's like 4 solist's forced together.

    -Hold back, for heavens sake!

  • too fast

  • The vibrato of the alto is perhaps too strong...

  • ... per se purcla???? 0:54 :) :) Love these kind of mistakes. Otherwise not too bad.

  • all "g" consonants performed by the bass are worng. It is pronounced as the g in golf in j in jessica.

  • @danijelbratina wrong : It's ecclesiastical pronunciation, close to italan : 'g' is indeed pronounced like 'j' in jessica.

cf Erasmus : Dialogus de recta latini graecique sermonis pronuntatione

  • ¡Qué hermosa voz y qué guapo el bajo!

  • excelente, excelente, hermosisimo, bello!

  • where is the trombonist rushing to??

  • Comment removed

  • @davisbone He was rushing it ever so slightly, right when he came in with the tenor. Anyways, he has a really nice sound, <3ing it.

Bravo !

  • per se purchra?...^^ the french love the r^^

  • @musicandi88 No, he says it correctly. And to his credit, his low note there rocks.

W MOZART

  • Why is the tenor so angry ? :D

  • Lovely, lovely rendition! All four sing with compasion and without effort. I must found out what other pieces from this mass were posted! Bravi!

  • Who on earth is the soprano? She sings so effortlessly with beautiful voice...

  • If you pull up on the right side of the screen the names are listed as follows: soprano, alto, tenor then bass.

  • that last soprano stole the show

  • I prefer the version of Karajan

  • The alto is so pretty! :D

  • who is the bass??? i am in loveee soo sexyyy ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh bababababa

  • anddd the mezzo it s so beauty

  • Gardiner version is better than this....Great job though!

  • Una versión impecable. El bajo, excepcional.

  • All were lovely, but that soprano....a voice that is simply Divine. A beautiful interpretation of Herr Mozart's masterwork. It is a bit of a pity that the tenor was so expressive (right choice of word?), he has a fine voice.

  • The most perfect version I've found on Youtube of thsi part of the mass! Thank you! :-D

  • genial mozart, me encanta, y el bajo excelente...

  • Holy French Bai...no complaints, though. Definitely no complaints.

  • Grande questo basso!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 5/5 tres bien!

  • Mezzo girl makes a face like my cat does when I scratch its back.

  • Soprano Diana Higbee

    Mezzo Stéphanie d'Oustrac

    Tenor Yann Beuron

  • @FigoItaliano

    hai msn? o skype?

  • Magnifique.

  • amazing trombonist!

  • TUBBBAAAAA MIRRRUUU<MMMMMM

  • I like a lot, I just think the tenor, compared to alto and sopran, sings it operatically, I mean, too dramatic. Don't get me wrong he's got a precious voice, I dream of such a voice, but his slurs in the stupebit and resurget are very operatic, whereas the other soloists are much more reserved. Anyway it is great and I loved it, thanks a lot.

  • Before reading the comments I was thinking the exact same thing; then I thought, well maybe I'm being too much a snob.

    Interesting.

  • Wow the singers are excellent in this one, and the tempo is perfect!

  • Alto is to die for...Incredible!

  • I agree, the alto is really incredibly good! :)

  • impresionantes solistas

  • O interpretare intradevar emotionanta si de referinta! Splendida vocea si prezenta basului Francois Lis; de admirat in opera LA PIETRA DEL PARAGONE de Rossini, (video) montata la Chatelet in 2007!

  • that sopran is really impressive

  • wow i felt in love with sopran!

  • Fabulus.....

  • Amazing trombonist, sopranos and orchestra.

    Here is Chartres Cathedral

    date, 29-9-2006

    and

Mozart - Requiem 250th Anniversary Concert

    This consert is completely amazing.

  • who are thesingers? can anyone answer?

  • Yes, it's written !

Diana Higbee, Stephanie d'Oustrac, Yann Beuron, François Lis.

  • YAAAAAAAAAAAAAN, forever !

  • who's the soprano? she's amazing!

  • Congratulations to the trombonist!

  • @johndaniels2180 --> impossible to imagine how hard it is to play such an obtrusive brass solo, where pitch is so important, on a trombone!!! unbelievable

  • Nice performance, save for the accidental slip-ups in words. I love this movement from the Requiem...

  • I love the bass!
