  • Everyone must think people with eating disorders are stupid. They always say "just eat" or "you could die" or list off random statistics or tell you to work out. I mean... DUH. Being skinny or fit isn't even the point. If you have chronic migraines, the aspirin doesn't cure the problem.

  • im glad hes not my doctor...

  • I don't see how that's "eating like a baby".

  • Ok i guess i dont understand this part...what is she doing with all the food..i mean she's organizing the can goods and stuff i guess i dont get it

  • @flourecentclear when you have an ED specifically anorexia. food becomes and object not a source of sustinance so you get a bit fascinated with it. arranging it counting it. it becomes kind of like a way to make up for not eating it.

  • @wolfclan13 thank you

  • Obesity is a disease too.. But you'll never find a movie that is compassionate toward them.. Even if they aren't as high as 300 pounds.....

  • @laurajdahl there are movies about obese people and help for them is CONSTANTLY advertised. Every other commercial on tv is for another diet plan or a weightloss group like weight watchers. Barely any help is advertised for people with anorexia or bulimia. I've never seen any commercials for it. People are so ignorant about it.

  • Yelling isn't gonna solve anything.

  • After the confrontation with her mom, Nancy would have bruises all over her.

  • that girl nancy is the craziest girl ive ever seen featured in a movie

  • try watching Girl Interrupted

  • the actress Cynthia Gibb that played Karen Carpenter, in THE KAREN CARPENTER STORY had to lose weight for her portrayal. Not sure how many pounds she had to lose but am guessing about 10 or 15 lbs. She was a tiny person to begin with. And Cynthia had had an eating disorder in her past too.

  • The doctor is cute =)

  • she's clearly OCD - explains the food arranging. very common that anorexics are by default OCD, as obviously they exhibit such symptoms - they're obsessive about controlling what goes into their bodies, exercise, etc.

  • Anorexia is a disease. Why don't you go up to someone who has cancer (another disease) and tell them that they are crazy.

  • @keepitreal41976 THANK YOU!! No one would ever dare do that because cancer is considered an actual disease. Families are always giving their full support for those with it, but they often ignore or even look down on those with eds. It's disgusting.

  • its not her fault its a disease she cant help it, keepitreal41976 is totali right, go to someone with cancer or something and tell them they are crazy because they lose their hair and stuff like that. i understand how weight issues can really cause serious depression. BACK OFF!

  • @mwrenn30 obviouly yes!

  • Seeing your 18 year old daughter crawl up the stairs as if she were 95 must be PAINFUL. I can't imagine going through that.

giving up on someone you love should never be an option unless there's no possible way to recover...

  • why don't they just commit her. isn't there that law that if someone is a danger to themselves or others they can legally be committed

  • watch the rest of the movie

  • Why does she make food?? and orginize it?

  • anrexics prepare food but dont eat it themselves.

  • But I would think doing this movie would trigger her eating disorder tendencies maybe...im glad it didn't.

  • I'm so glad they didn't go with the stereotypical "oh no she's having a heart attack" like all the other ED movies - this one is actually so much closer to reality than the other ones.

  • I don't understand why she's doing the corn, peas, carrots thing...can someone explain that to me?

  • Most eating disorder sufferers are type 'A' personalities, meaning they're perfectionists, and are often very obsessive/compulsive. They display funny little traits like being incredibly orderly, alphabetizing or labeling things, folding clothes and re-stacking stuff, washing their hands like 50 times a day etc...

  • ahh maybe that mother is sweetXD

she not so bad as al the mums in the other moviesXD

  • rofl she is driving her mother nuts corn peecsXD

  • that girl is a REALLY good actress!

  • She's been through it in real life, so she definitely can "play the role".

  • Sorry I re-read it, she was recovering so she was still sick in this movie, I'm glad she didn't have to lose weight for it, I hate those ED movies where the main characters just have a pale face and still look normal.

  • I read somewhere that she was recovered before this movie but she doesn't look it to me.

  • I wish I could get better.

    Eating disorders suck.

    It's ruined my life.

    It controls my life.

    I HATE it.

  • YOu know Tracey Gold was really anorexic in real life. If they made her loose weight again for this movie then that was stupid of them. Thank GOD she's healed now in Jesus' Name † Makes me think of Karen Carpenter †

  • they didnt make her lose weight again. they filmed the movie while she was recovering so they wouldnt have to ask someone to lose weight.

  • I love that the mom seems to actually care and isn't as big of a bitch as the ones in the other ED movies, not as pushy, either.

  • Her mom is very, very pushy.

  • does anyone know of any other good ed films i watched quite alot n think this is the best! xxxx

  • this is by far one of the better ed movies out there

  • that's because it's based on a true story in my town. it's not that hollywood imagined bullshit. this actually happened.

  • I agree..this is a really good ED movie.
