i think the clapping at the end spoils it(not to say the boys shouldnt get it) but fantastic singing and then the clapping i think they should have cut the clapping out
Absolutely fab! I always said when I have a son I want him to be a Soporano.... now I've decided I just want any of these soporanos to be my son!!! :-)
Someone commented on one of these videos I watched that " these boys are the angles that God sent to save us ". I have to say that the more I listen to these clips whoever said that had it right. I have just recently found this group and I can't get enough of them. I have my favorites ( Tom, Josh & Ben) like everyone but they are all great. It's all about the sum of the parts.
Everything about these kids is amazing for their age. I don't know if you can appreciate these videos and songs of them more if you're someone who's sang for years, or never sang, but after so many years of rehearsing and competition and concerts in and after school and for fun. I sure am in awe of these guys and all the MANY hours of dedication and training to hone the God given special singing abilities they were blessed with. On my best 3 octive range strong voice day, I wasn't close to them.
Did you notice that the two sets of brothers in the group are paired-up for this hymn (The Cole boys, and Sam with his brother)? I think that gives an extra meaning to the words (abide with me).
When you consider the full lyrics, and the parlous state of the author's health, with his own death imminent, I can see that these words are both remarkable and uplifting for believers.
I have no religious beliefs at all, and can be very cynical. Over two decades in the military I saw many occasions when priests tried to suggest that death in a good cause is glorious. It isn't. Death on a battlefield is nasty, noisy, smelly, and something to be avoided.
those are what one calls "in ear monitors" in stage lingo - they are used to provide the boys with whatever they need - usually it is so that they can hear the accompaniment, themselves and each other better - basically they are fed whatever comes out of the speakers to the audience, which they can't normally hear very well, beingin behind the speakers.
@midwestbeliever I can attest from personal experience it well and truly SUCKETH having to sing WITHOUT a monitor because of some tech snafu. Wow it really sucks. If that happens and you weren't well rehearsed nad prepared, you were, what's that word? Oh yeah. SCREWED!!!!! :)
Surely the Iraq and Afghanistan are places that are worse Heinrichdn. Redlander man I understand what your saying to an extent, we need to be careful that our worship to the Lord isn't a performance, however If I was there, I would be not only applauding the faith of these young boys but for the awesome sacrifice of praise they just offered to God. Te people there recieved blessing by that I think in my heart.
tout simplement magnifique !! choeurs de chant ainsi que la musique nous fait vibrer. bravo !!

My wife and I have agreed (a very rare event) that of all Liberas songs this is the most magnificent.
I would rather like this at my funeral even though it may seem an odd thing for an atheist to say, but the singing is so truly stunning.
Thanks chaps, a really great effort.

SSASMSKSR 2 years ago
I think it's only for main soloists or those doing harmonies, so they can hear themselves properly and don't get distracted by the others singing!

not all of them need this. it helps to dont forget the text and the melody and they sings more louder. it´s easier to sing.

those are what one calls "in ear monitors" in stage lingo - they are used to provide the boys with whatever they need - usually it is so that they can hear the accompaniment, themselves and each other better - basically they are fed whatever comes out of the speakers to the audience, which they can't normally hear very well, beingin behind the speakers.

A Hymn to raise one's voice to the Almighty Triune God. And then they destroy it with applause. How sad! No faith, only entertainment.
