@jwong1225 Watch normal speed videos demonstrating the knuckle ball and look at the movement of the ball in them. Normally you will see that the ball is hit well enough that it will barley spin at all, whereas a less controlled kick will result in sometimes unwanted spinning.

this is a bad shot.... but a ball that spins tells the keeper the direction that it is going to curve to; whereas a "deadball" has erratic and random movements in the air and keeps the keeper on their backfeet until the ball either enters the net or they swipe it away.

which is why you never see a keeper try to catch a kick like this... its too much of a gamble.
