If anything, he was careful and rather shy before this big stardom he's gained on Supernatural, all of his goofiness only began to show more as he grew more comfortable with the fandom and his status on the show. So basically, I don't agree with your quote, so why would I add to it? Misha not being a star before has nothing to due with his goofiness.

@ImOfNope Every actor has that one role that launches them into stardom, that one role that fits them and that people become drawn to. For Misha, it's Castiel. He came onto the screen and blew everyone away, it simply had nothing to do with any goofiness. And considering that Misha has worked in the White House before, I'd say goofiness isn't an issue, the White House isn't a place where a load of goofiness is appreciated.

I really like this guy and the character he plays, but I am wondering if he isn't taken too seriously as an actor because so far it seems that he clowns around a lot in his interviews. I don't get the sense that he takes himself more seriously as a serious actor and may be why he hasn't gotten his big break yet. He certainly has the potential.

@ImOfNope You mean Misha? I say Supernatural is his big break, no other role he has played has been this big or received so much attention. And besides, not every actor's dream is to be some big named movie star, some people are happy where they are and the work that they do. Misha has a serious side and he takes his work seriously, just because he is goofy during interviews doesn't mean he isn't being a serious actor. Lots of actors are goofy during interviews, doesn't make them not successful.

@ImOfNope Take Matt Bomer for example, not goofy, incredibly handsome but hard-working, it would take 9 years before his big break came when he was picked to star as Neal Caffrey on USA's hit show White Collar, and now he's famous, he's on Ads everywhere, cover of magazines, named Sexiest Rising Star of 2009 by People Magazine, he is completely loved at Comic Con, and he's on all these interviews. People love him. And there is many more examples of hard-working serious actors waiting so long.
