Boys, please don't lift fish by their gills if they are intended for release. Fish do not have to support their weight in the water and holding a large fish by what is essentially its lungs will severely reduce its chances of survival.
On another note, awesome fish! and good to see you're letting some go for the future.
Please note the state bag limit of this sepcies is 10 per person per day. We caught 6 mulloway from 7 trips in the entire 2009 season. 4 of those fish were over 18kgs, and we kept a grand total of 4 fish for the season.

Im starting out in mulloway fishing probably landbased estuary at the moment, you have a simple spinning reel, how do you set it so the fish takes the bait and so that you can strike, in comparison to a baitrunner setup?
