Are you seriously trying to say that the BBC is better than Channel 4? The BBC? Really? If the BBC wasn't funded by taxes, it would have died a LONG time ago. Their viewers are generally old people who don't go outside, which is why their ratings are so high. Channel 4 is aimed at somewhat intelligent people and young people, this group generally spend most of their time outside, so the ratings are generally lower. The BBC wouldn't get advertisers, because their audience is too old.

Yeah I hear Grand Designs, jamie Oliver, River Cottage and Sarah Beeny are somewhat iconic amongst the student fraternity.

Personally I prefer Desperate Housewives, Frasier and I loved Dead Set and Mo. Granted Desperate Housewives doesn't require a phd to watch it and Dead Set was a zombie attack on the Big Brother house (more of a happy dream than a drama) but Ch4 is hardly CITV!

The BBC is not what it once was. Not worth the money nowadays :(
