Be advised, when hiring a gondola do not ask "Quanto?" or "Quanto costa?" or "How much?" Just profer the amount of cash you are willing to spend on the ride and enjoy. If you are inclined to extend a ride that is too short offer a gratuity for a short extension. Asking "How much?" will guarantee a 50 euro investment when you can get a perfectly pleasant and "bucket list filling" ride for 20 euro. Ciao!

Of course these are just details but..
"O sole mio","Nel blu dipinto di blu(volare)" are all songs from southern Italian artists.They r famous abroad so these gondolieri sing them for the tourists..
But it'd be the same if I visit Boston or New York listening to a cow-boy song by Jhonny Cash.

@eStickAzz Ha! I'm from Southern US, and that's pretty funny. I really want to move to Venice someday though. I love the architecture and atmosphere, and good food too!

Thanks mate. What a case, I just came back from a trip in Florida, few days ago. I was in Orlando, C.Canaveral, Miami and Key Islands. Really amazing: Key West was a great surprise and people were nice. Hope you'll enjoy in Venice.
