Judge Puts Halt to 'don't Ask Don't Tell' Policy

You know Thomas Jefferson said that the way that the U.S. government was set up it could easily be an oligarchy. He named the courts as being the minority that would rule the majority. We revolted against a king 3000 miles away and then subjected ourselves to these kind of idiots that are constantly accepting bribes and all that. Something tells me that the founding fathers did not have this in mind when they set up the U.S. government.

The military is a good place for me to go whenever Don't ask, Don't tell ends. I will have special privileges as far as promotion, new gay adopted holidays. I will eventually wear down the opposition and have special bathrooms. I will be part of affirmative action. If anyone calls me gay, it will be sexual harassment. The military will probably lose allot of potential enlistees because of the fact that I am openly allowed to be here.

I dont want separate bathrooms.. I'm openly gay and serving in the AirForce now. My coworkers know I'm gay.. I use the same restrooms still. There is no issue there.

It is allot like the military in the sense that everyone is trapped inside walls or barracks or sharing bathrooms. There is allot of homosexual sex in prisons because those straight prisoners will eventually come to me when they go without sex for months and months. Closeted gays have served for years in the military, and so far as I can tell - no issues, they work just as hard at their jobs as anyone. Aside from the occasional harassment, assault, or even murder by other so-called "men" or "women", of course.

If you've got what it takes to serve, then who gives a damn?

As an example he said that if one soldier does not change his socks once then it will have a negative affect on the whole unit. If that is just with changing socks then how much would it be for a gay in the military? Why is it that we have to double over backwards for less then %2 of our population that carries %80 of our STD cases?

Canada allows gays to openly serve, and so far as I know - we've had no 'problems'.

That is the point that I was making. You said that one might feel uncomfortable in the presence of a gay person. Imagine if that feeling of unease emerged in battle. You would be killed. The military can not allow for that because human life is precious and they do not want to unnecessarily waste them.

how many people feel uneasy around christians. i guess religion should become a don't ask, don't tell issue. who you worship is your bussiness, so long as you don't open express you affiliation. keep your religion a secret. after all, christianity is a choice.

this line of reasoning could be extended to near everything. keep everything about you a secret, a lie so as not to unease those in your unit.

Websters definition of religion is: "a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects." It doesn't say anything about a lifestyle there. No matter what you say the two are different. It seems to me that you hate Christians and think that we are the result of all the problems of society.

i chose christianity as my target to point out that someone's "beliefs and practices" should NOT be a factor so long as it does not hinder thier ability to do the job. homosexuality does not hinder the homo's abilities. bigotry hinders the bigot's ability. i didn't mean to actually suggest that christians should not be allowed to expouse their beliefs. essentially "unit coheasion" is a buzz word for widespread bigotry that could go both ways.
