Of course Horne and Podles but I have to say I REALLY enjoyed Kathleen Kuhlman who sang first. I've always loved her singing and find her to be quite under-rated/appreciated.
Though Podles is the only real contralto in the group, all these ladies are quite good, with the exception of Lauris Elms. Even Scalchi here is commendable; in the Pesaro 1992 production she was just awful.
