This can sound more like a train. Have you thought about modifying the toy mic with with a mounted lapel mic inside then a 1/4 jack ? I was wondering how that would work.
@thunderjagman Yeah, I've fooled around with micing it and re-housing it. I made some other videos of my results, which you can see over on my channel...

Well, I've moved on this idea, and I've remounted the spring from the echo mic in a cigar box that I modified to hold a harmonica securely in one end. I cut out some sound holes on in the lid of the cigar box, and have drilled a portal for a 1/4" jack. I'll use a piezo element glued to the inside of the box as a pick up... For now, it sounds great accoustic. I'll have to make a vid soon and post it as a video reply to this so you all can see what I mean. Cheers, Isaac
Hi! It´s exactly what I was planning to do with my new (toy) harmonica!!!! I use springs in my experiments with instruments and saw your video a year ago, so it´s an idea that came partly thanks to you... Thanks ; ) Already got the spring, cigar box, electronics, but I normally make an extra effort in making the instrument sound good just accusticly.. Did you already try the piezo it out?
Hmmm, I´ll let you know as soon as I get some results
@chipontachipon Yes, I've already added the piezo. I made a video (or two) about it (their in my channel) if you are interested in hearing how it sounds... Yes, please do let me know when you get some results! I'd be quite curious to see what you do!
I am in the process of doing something similar, but building it into the sound mechanism of a Native American-style flute. I have already tried it with the flute and it sounds amazing.
My thought is to build a tower over the sound hole which would contain the spring and diaphragm.
Thank you so much for sharing that. I've always been curious about that thing.
So.. you know what you need to do... you need to mod that toy mic so you can hook it up to the amp... or better yet, turn it into a spring reverb effects box/pedal. :)
Great stuff man. Your enthusiasm is inspiring. I've only just started playing about 9 months ago and still don't have the guts to post anything online.
Happachu, I'm one step ahead of you on this one! I already have plans to rehouse the main part of this thing, and make it a converable acoustic reverb mic/electric reverb chamber! Thank you for the kind comments as well! They really mean a lot to me. It's a big step to start posting videos, but it really helps you grow! You should do it!
I got it! great

Looks like you were micing the harmonica. Weren't you supposed to be micing the end of the magic mic?

@kundalinicandy First off, thanks for the compliments! Second, yes, the spring inside vibrates when you sing or play harp into it. Hope that helps!
