  • What is this monologue called?

  • A SO is what yr character wants over the course of the entire scene which supports the character's overall objective. A SO is the specific drive of intercommunication between u & the other character within the scene. A SO will drive yr inner monologue so that the audience does not experience your emotions as over-indulgent. Emotions without a SO create a static scene because they have no forward motion. What u do with yr emotions to achieve yr SO is what creates a powerful performance. PM me...

  • Great job! V natural performance. Some constructive criticism? It wasn’t clear to me what your scene objective was. Was it based on guilt or confusion or remorse? A scene objective should be a short statement that will drive your emotions throughout the scene and phrased as a question so that you can truly immerse yourself. In this scene it might be, “I want you to know how guilty I feel.” The SO is the glue that ties the overall script together. It makes for very rich characters. Great job tho

  • @Picto2000 Hey thanks. When you say scene objective, do you mean a direct address to the camera/audience before the monologue begins or something that's slipped into the actual dialogue? Thanks for checking out the video, the advice and the compliment.

  • @EMathewMiller The idea of a scene objective is what you (personally) want to achieve during the scene. Not from the perspective of you the actor, but from you the character. Eventually when you become a more skilled actor with a bigger repertoire, you create an overall objective and even sentence objectives. Similarly, some actors prefer to create scene objectives based on their own lives. For instance, you may want to substitute movie names for ones in your own life. This is all in your mind.

  • Oh WOW that gave me chills and sucked me in, duede that reminded me of inception. U R a great actor, and writer. Make up the rest of the story.

Did u like kill your mom or something? Any tips for acting, I sort of suck, I feel very acted. GOD bless u man. Keep going

  • @conqueringiants Inception? Wow that's quite the compliment; thanks lol. I'm glad you like the acting and writing. At this point, I'm not so sure I wanna expand on the story but the basic concept is my character committed suicide and his spirit is stuck with that. Tips? Umm, from my experience, all I can say is just do it. Hone your skills through acting classes or just watching your favorite actors/other actors in your network, etc. If you love it, keep at it.

  • @EMathewMiller Yeah, I like to act, Im not sure if where I live there is a real acting class, but yeah you have a point. I have trouble really getting the feeling and sound natural of the caracter im playing, like if you see me anybody can just say yeah shes acting lol, so yeah any tips for that speciflicly. GOD bless u

  • @conqueringiants Well unfortunately, I've never had an formal training so I don't have any solid tips lol. Um, I think the best advice from me is figure out your character, physically, emotionally and spiritually—all their values, etc. Then put yourself in their shoes, their situation...their world—almost like temporary, controlled self-hypnosis. I hope that helps; like I said, I'm not much authority on developing acting skill lol.

  • @EMathewMiller Really? Then how did u learn all that?. Great advice thou, I guesse it´s just practice after that. Thanks GOD bless u

  • @conqueringiants I think I just picked up a feel for it from watching movies and observing people around me my whole life. Yeah, just keep practicing though; my skills are no where NEAR where I want them to be so I have to practice too lol. Glad to help!

  • @EMathewMiller Cool, I think your really good, so I guess your going to be a great actor, anyway thanks. GOD bless u =)

  • great performance man! Can i ask you where this monologue comes from?

  • @pasqualgreco Hey thanks! I actually wrote this monologue.

  • SO GOOD !

  • @ryanizbest Thanks!

  • who is your "audience" ?

  • @lilbunsss I honestly didn't figure on a target audience. I just thought it would be an interesting concept and then figured it would be a cool dramatic piece for my portfolio.

  • Oh my that was amazing :) You inspired me by so much. You were really connected to the character, which from experience is hard to grasp. I'm glad I came along your video youre much greater then ones I found. Fave and like <3 keep up the work and you'll go far.

  • @HappyWithoutMe Hey thanks! I really appreciate the compliment and I'm honored you were inspired.

  • This is seriously amazing. I loved the look in your eyes. You are truly a great actor!! :D

  • @3arcenciel3 lol thanks, I'm glad you liked it.

  • Excellent work! It made me a bit sad. My son's friend killed himself when he was only 19, I remember how at his funeral his dad spent the whole service clinging onto his son's hat as he cried, I could see the pain in your character's eyes. I'll never forget the image of that dad in so much pain.

  • @WinningDirector Thank you for the compliment; I'm glad I could evoke that emotion. However, I am sorry about the loss of your son's friend and my condolences go out to his family and yours.

  • fanatasic job did you get in?

  • @lovesbroadway1 Hey thanks! No, I didn't get in, though lol. This actually wasn't for any particular project—just a piece for my portfolio.

  • @EMathewMiller do u have any advice on how i could get into tische nyu? like how much experience i would need? :)

  • @lovesbroadway1 I have no clue, unfortunately lol. I think the only advice I can offer is just be yourself, be honest and give it everything you've got. If they don't think you're experienced enough, ask what you can improve on, take the suggestion (or leave it) and go from there. Something I always keep in mind is some of the most successful actors never even went to school for acting; they just acquired a little coaching at most. Hope that helps!

  • @EMathewMiller Yeah it makes perfect sense. Thanks alot :D Its true not all actors went to acting school. I will try my hardest anyway though :D thanks

  • @lovesbroadway1 You're welcome!

  • thats amazing, what do you call that monologue ??? would really like to do it for my audition :)

  • @SuperRJstyles Haha thanks! I actually don't have a name for it; it was just a piece I came up with and always referred to it as "Dramatic Monologue" lol

  • @HotSteamyNights Thank you! I appreciate it.

  • good acting

  • @mysterionaire Thanks much!
