Yes they were ahead of their time and Thereze admited in an interview that they suffered from crap management and Record label mis management also. The songs they made with Trevor Horn were classic pop ie Videotheque, Hand Held in Black and White and Give me Back My Heart and Mirror Mirror. These songs were the first Hits that Trevor Horn had as producer.

Thanks to Trevor Horn when he got onto this pair. He was the best producer, and still is, during the late 70's and early 80's. You should hear some of their demo's before Horn worked his magic on the tracks. Frankie Goes to Hollywood, ABC and many other were massive because of Trevor Horn. Beats any modern rubbish my miles.

I know some people will diss the Dollar number as a load of cheesy rubbish, but actually, they were way ahead of their time for '78, using electronic sounds and video effects and pre-empting 80's pop sounds. When everyone else was still wearing flares and doing old-fashioned music.

Dollar were fantastic LONG before Trevor horn got involved, their 1978/79 Debut Album was quite stunning(especially the 'experimental' A side) and spawned 3 hit singles. Classic pop at its finest.

Never heard this. According to Joel Whitburn this was their only Hot 100 entry in the US peaking at #74 in 1980. I can see why this did not sit well with the US. market. I find this boring. At the same time I prefer their 1988 Erasure remake of "Oh L'Amour". Now the latter is one of those songs that make me think of how much I miss England.

Oh! What memories, what memories. It didn't really matter that neither of these two could actually sing - the synergy of their voices is what made it work. That and clever, catchy pop songs , impeccably produced by Trevor Horn. A sure-fire recipe for success. I love this song - one of my favourites from Dollar. Bring back the eighties.

Still got the original 7" single on the CARRERE label somewhere and There was also a video of this kicking about at the time. This performance was from Nov'78.

They were a breakaway duo from the band Guy's 'n Dolls, and this track was written by David Courtney who also penned hits for Leo sayer
