@reinvitation why change what is already making them money, koei tried something different with DW6 and it didn't do well with fans, they make these games for the fans, the charactors stay the same because of the story used in the series, you can't have Three Kingdoms Without Lu Bu or Guan Yu, i like the gameplay but they really dumbed down the AI from the older games on PS2, and thus making the game easy

One thing I've noticed about the Japanese versions of Dynasty Warriors is that no matter what character you play, it seems that they all say something very similar whenever you beat an officer. (Probably something along the lines of "Hey! I defeated an officer!") The English versions have characters saying all sorts of different things, from Zhou Tai's simple "Victory is mine," to Dong Zhuo's "Another insect on the sole of my shoe!"

Gameplay and dynamics won't change much since its a hack and slash game, or did you forget that? Ever tried this thing on the hardest mode without the Final Weapon? that'd give you a good run for your skill.

I was hoping that Dynasty Warrior series will adopt the Assasin's creed combo moves, the combos animations show interaction between the hero and the opponents that you are battling with. I even searched for mod in the internet to make Assasins creed into huge scale battle. Kingdom Under Fire2 looks promising though.
