i'm guessing you never used thermite in basic/ait or at the range before.
i'm retired army and i never used them until halfway through ait.
i noticed that when we threw them they ignited almost immediately.
that reminded me about when i 1st heard that during familliarization but forgot it about 3 seconds later.
it came back to me in april of oif 1 when we found a bunch of russian ord and experimented with different fuses in diffrent grenades.
