  • that must have been an awesome trip. Very nice pictures. Excellent song choice too. John Denver was an awesome musician.

  • @ Jim, I think my two favorite places in the U.S. are Alaska and Sedona, AZ. I have your video on my favorites playlist. Maybe for your 2012 trip you can do a video to John Denvers other song about Alaska it is good too

  • @wqcharleston please see my other channel, JTYREY. I just did a video using two other of John Denver's Alaska songs. It is listed as John Denver's Alaska Songs. Having trouble with this channel on an upload. JIM

  • I still love this video and the song you used. Can't wait to go back.

  • @wqcharleston I know how you feel. We are working on our 2012 trip right now. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • love this song

  • It was always my dads dream to go to Alaska. Then we moved there and he's STILL learning new stuff. Its been 3 years and we all LOVE it here! I've never seen the great nothern lights, though. Nor a whale.

  • I love this video

  • A PERFECT video for the PERFECT Alaska song...

  • This is a Beautiful song thank you so much for posting it....I lived in Alaska four years and this video reminds me of Alaska's beauty...how I long to go back to the little cosmic hamlet by the sea!

  • I live in Alaska. This video helped me remember home when I spent several months in Spain.

  • @Flickerfast I could understand such a nostalgia, coming myself from a northern country. But tell me, is this a known song among the Alaskan population? Is it regularly sung by the people? There is another video on youtube with him singing this song in a family party, from a movie called Higher ground, is that something that could happen when Alaskans come together?

  • @Sjukurkottur It's not regularly sung, but it is fairly well known. If you would like to hear some songs about Alaska that are more popular here, try looking up Hobo Jim Alaska. Jim's the Official State Balladeer (no joke), and sings at places like the Governer's Picnic in Fairbanks and Anchorage, at Alaska Day celebrations, and random places like Sockeye's. It's not uncommon to sing along with the radio or in small groups in the bush, so it is quite possible something like that could happen.

  • Nice video!

  • they should have left america untainted as well....it was once beautiful, like alaska...

  • thats a nice Video and a beautiful song, my compliment!

  • Flag as spam, but all I see is a bunch of tourists raping my homeland as their own country. How sad they can't find a J.D. song singing about their own.

  • @molly195957 Molly, sorry you feel that way about it. I would be a lot more worried about something like the Pebble Mine than a few people staying in a remote cabin and eating 2 pinks and a couple of cuts. Pebble will rape your land and leave it pregnant with an unborn disaster in the womb, a monster lake of toxic waste in the headwaters of some of Alaska's best rivers.

  • @jtyrey Alaska was my home before it became a state. Went through the 64 earthquake. The Alaska experience is much more than fishing.

  • Gorgeous. Perfect song! Thanks!

  • Gorgeous. Perfect song! Thanks!

  • If i were on this fishing trip id never want to go home. pure paridise

  • Grew up in Alaska. Camped all summer, panned for gold, dreamed big. Thanks for adopting me Mom & Dad. Alaska made me who I will always be no matter what life throws at me.

  • Nice song! and nice pictures!
