@deppressed1 math was my most hated subject. i paid no attention in class cause i didnt want to disrupt the class about anything i didnt understand, thus leaving me clueless as to how things in algebra worked. i barely passed my math courses in high school. but, after completing the first linear equations video and doing the practice sets, i got hooked. i became addicted to math. my room doesnt have working light so i went on a problem solving streak with just the light from my computer screen.

that will be your order of operations... so if you have 1/2 x 2 + 2

you first go: (1/2 x 2) + 2

that equals: 1 + 2

therefor: 3

same signs [-] x [-] or [+] x [+] will give you a positive.

so 2(-1)+1

=.......-2+1
