Cooked some Turkey wings my self. Injected with Cajun Creole butter marinade, rubbed down with some Kickin Chicken Seasoning. Came out great. Have you ever used the Charl Broil Big Easy Cooker? If not you need to try one they are awesome. They cook with indirect heat.
@hippie5041958 The injected wings sound great! Haven't tried the Big Easy. I have 2 Webers, one offset smoker and a big offset being built for me as I type. If I bought another grill my wife would kill me!
@charliepossenriede I know huh!!!! They've hooked me up a few times though, so I'm not going to complain. :) I host a grilling video contest every summer and Craycort has been really good about donating a grate as a prize.
People would not search youtube for how to cook turkey wings!! Wrong again Bob!! ;). Nice video!! I have cooked them in my upright smoker ( New Brunfels Bandera ). with outstanding results!!! Barbecued turkey wings remind me of the Flintstones!! eating those giant ribs and drumsticks!! Low and slow bbq turkey wings are to die for!!! I use pecan wood!! to smoke 'em. After watching your video guess what I'm doing today!!! (^c^) peace!! and thanks!!
I don't know why people don't use turkey wings more often, they are great. I add a bit of cranberry juice or jam in with the sauce for basting. Tastes like Xmas!
Great video!! I will be using this technique for my thanksgiving turkey wings!! I was looking for something different and this is definitely it for us! Thanks again for posting.
Hey man, it's "about time" someone did a video on grilling turkey wings!! Congrats on having the very first grilling turkey wings tutorial on Youtube! It was well done and your technique shows that you have been around the pit plenty of times.
I'm sticking with my stainless steel grates for now. Me and iron don't get along. I also have a Chargriller Pro, a fine piece of work but it's hard for me to fight rust. My hat goes off to guys like you who can cook with iron.
@Agent4Wisdom Thanks for the comment! Yeah, rust is definitely one of the drawbacks with cast iron. I've learned that as long as I give em' a little coating of veggie oil after every cook and keep the lid on, they don't rust. Forget to do this and stand-by! I bought one of those big pumice bricks to sand them down if they get rusty. Then of course I have to re-season them. Bit of a pain, but I like how these things hold the heat.
@funkNretro a company called Craycort. Youtube isn't letting me put the web address down, so bear with me here. It is cast-iron-grate dot you know what.

Love the Craycort, I have one for the Big Green Egg. You are right, this grate is an awesome piece of equipment.
Nice job on the video. I had a pair of wings I was going to cook and wanted to confirm how I was going to do them.
