  • why is it only apple that gets bugged by greenpeace and other green organisations?

  • GREENPEACE FAIL

  • they are green already

  • Greenpeace.

    World's biggest dreamers.

  • It's not only recycled... it would also cost $995.87

  • You do realise that this video is protected by copyright law, and that you are not allowed to use it without permission, right?

  • Wouldn't it be great...

  • the 100% takeback is actually a good idea.

  • at least it's not PeTA who's doing this...

  • Man, fucking Greenpeace get on my nerves, all the money wasted on this. Well Apple have changed, but nobody is going to catchup so what you have is one company doing really well and the old problem still there.

  • how no one cares

  • kinda sounds like steve with a stuffy nose =p

  • weird guy

  • go to hell chinese5angel, your suck.

don't tell ANYTHING bad about greenpeace. If you don't know, don't say it.

    u.ú

  • As much Greenpeace's goals are good...

Apple does SO much hard work, inventing and working on brand new intuitive technology to make things so much better for the end user...

It's hard enough as it is... Having all the modifications you guys want to be made to Apple's products would be either impossible, or force the price to be increased exponentially...

Otherwise Apple would of course make it Green-friendly... It's not like they're some evil company that wants to destroy all life on earth!

  • damn that sucked... failed attempt to be funny.

    ¡BRAVO GREENPEACE!

  • Fuch share and trust?????

  • Lol, solar panels! XD

  • I am yet to see another Greenpeace film/campaign critiquing any other computing manufacture? Can anyone share one with us...

  • No, Apple has been given a rating of 11 (from a possible 100) in a new report by Climate Count on the way electronics companies are taking steps to reduce global warming. By any standards that's a failing grade. I am Mac user myself, so please, folks, go spew your venom somewhere else. Write to Steve

  • Sad. Just sad.

Fucking Greentards are always giving Apple crap, when the new iMacs, iPods etc. are all engineered to be extremely recyclable, while other companies are doing way worse shit and aren't getting fucked by these ididots.

  • Stop being an Apple suck up. Really. Don't. Apple has just copied Dell's recycling program. I wouldn't be surprised if you are an Apple worker.

    'Sad. Just sad.'

  • Greenpiece of shit

  • Seen this one? Johnny Hallyday Mon Fils. Live. Superclip.

  • Again, argue something realisic. Arent there enough people arguing about this CRAP. Do something new for a change

  • You must be fucking joking.

Greenpeace is now a promotional organization for Chinese crap.

No wonder the co-creator of your organization hates your fucking guts.

  • Umm I don't want that fucking green piece of junk. I want the nano apple made. Fuck the environment I want my TECHNOLOGY!!

  • 'Fuck the environment'. Are you OUT OF YOUR MIND??? Why don't you go to Calcutta and parts of Northern Africa and observe the drought's taking place because humans are fucking up the planet. And if your Christian, many evangelicals are going green, and trying to save the planet.

Stop. Learn. Think. We only have one planet. Don't be selfish.

  • @kpappletech Do you have any faith in God?

  • FAGS

  • Are apple products _that_ green and recyclable??

  • Yea you didn't know...

  • I would like to know what magical computers green peace uses that meets the standards they ask for. I also dont know why they target Apple products when apple is constantly making their products more environmentally friendly. Wouldn't it make more sense to go after IBM or Dell????

  • Well they target apple because apple is less of a world wide dominating corporation, which is another thing GreenPeace is about, and I will prolly get death threats, but Apple is in A LOT of ways better then PCs so theyd want them, and theyd want em to be green

  • GREENPEACE SUCKS. the very people who support greenpeace are doing the contrary of what they are supporting. fuck you greenpeace.

  • LOL, you can say that again.

  • Greenpeace lie again...Mac has the best electronic stuff on the market and this is a fact !

  • The new iMac is made with super recyclable glass and aluminum and shit. I'd say Apple is doing their part. Oh but wait, it's not about being environment friendly. I forgot being green = DOWN WITH THE CORPORATIONS!

  • i like the idea, we should make a petition to actually do green apples, i would definatley invest!!

  • Republicans are so dumb that if you talk about protecting the PLANET, they call you LEFT WING, RED, bla bla...It's ignorance at its highest.

  • The iPod powered (charged) by solar panels in neat idea. I love also powering it by moving it around, just like Rolex watches.

  • Yes, because smog doesn't exist, nor the increase of American children developing allergies in smog infested cities like LA, NYC, etc...Sooo the excess pollution caused by "recycling" toxis elements in all technology is probably a big communistic conspiracy as well, and should be ignored in kind.

  • Do yourself a favor, put the argument of "Green = Un-American" to the test and read up on it. You can be a strong, Republican American voter and still support Green development. It only wants to make water cleaner, make trees greener, and make living a little less toxic worldwide.

  • Wow, this is lame; Greenpeace taking a swing at one of the most greenest corporation out there...

Why not barking at Microsoft's tree?

  • the new Apple iMac: Pricey

"and one last thing, GreePeace, you can get out of the computer businnes now, and go save some whales.": priceless

  • I like Golden Delicious.

    Not Green.

  • i like the macintosh apple(yes, this is a type of apple that you can eat)

  • lol, hence the creation of the mac

  • It's a bit ridiculous...

    ...but this is great!

  • fuckin good job greenpeace at least their gettin off their arses to do sumtin unlike every other lazy bitch

  • Yay for Greenpeace for TRYING to do something for the environment, unlike all the idiots who posted below me who are too busy enjoying good music to do a little hard work for our earth.

  • why bother? i reckon we're fucked anyway.

  • greenpeace uses Macs to create their lame "ads". If you're all so anti-Mac then stop using them yourselves.

  • you guys are freaks

  • I listen to my ipod in the dark, in bed, how do you propose its going to work then greenpeace? Noone will buy the green iPod, OK? GET OVER IT!

  • you "greenpeace" people are a bunch of fruitcakes. Do you know who is one of the head honchos on the apple board of directors? Al Gore. That guy is such a hypocrite it isn't even funny. You stupid enviromentalists are the ones driving up gas prices because you wont let us build more oil refineries to drive up supply and cheapen the prices. Mr. Jobs, if you happen to stumble along on this, dont give in to these nuts. They have no scientific evidence to back up what they say.

  • LOL 1wellhowdydoo1! nice comment!

  • Fuck Steve Jobs and the iPhone

  • fuck you

  • It looks like you're an Apple's employee aren't you?

Enjoy your iPhone buddy, running with OBJ C, the best sucking programming language on earth!!

..ohhh maybe you are Steve Jobs, a $600 dollars phone?

    H E L L OOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You're saying that because you don't have the money

  • greenpeace sucks and blows

  • This really, really sucks!

    I hate Greenpeace.

  • here here

  • Cool!

  • zzzzz........ hey! oh hey! dont u dare changing steve's jobs! Ye i care about whales and planes but u get on apple and u're all dead!

  • THAT SUCKS!!!!!

  • What was truly the point of this video? This was lame.

  • what do you have against apple?? they're great, the products are awesome. AND YOU??

    Greenpeace sucks.

  • greenpeace is not about the environment. it is about anti-big business. apples are cool

  • Hey its a spoof! Love it. Hillarious putting words in Steve's mouth. Well done. I love the iPOD Video! Do one on that next, OK? How about embarrassing moments recorded on Ipod video add-on recorders like Belkin?

  • U LITTLE....

  • If green companies are doing better, then other companies will follow. Buy green, the vote you cast with your dollar is more powerful than any ballot. also visit knowmoredotorg

  • I never laughet that much in years.. i like greenpeace but.. thats hilariuos

  • This was a load of crap. This wasn't worth watching. It wasn't funny. The point was a load of crap. Stop harming our earth? Sure. But please, GreenPeace, stop harming our god damned human culture by producing pure shit like this.

  • I don't want a green apple. By the way, most of what is said is so large a change that if Apple did this just like that, it would crash and burn. Are you sure there are people responding "positively". I like the last part, greenpeace leave the computer industry alone.

  • You greenpeace nutters need to get a clue. Apple is already ahead of the industry on responsible manufacturing practices, they have been for a while, they just don't advertise it. The only reason you guys are targeting them is because they're the company with the "hip new" products these days.

  • greenpeace, you can do better, stop taking diggs at apple, just because thay are more popular than others you choose to take them down!

  • Crystal skulls are the oldest computor

  • I think Greenpeace really needs to stop bullying Apple. The majority of the tech. community has much more harmful environmental policies. The only reason they're picking on Apple is because of their popularity in the tech. community. Come on Greenpeace, you can do better....

  • The idea is to push major manufacturers to go green, which, in the end, will push all manufacturers to go green. Among major manufacturers, only Apple hadn't pledged or made their environmental policy public until recently, when Steve Jobs finally published a 'Greener Apple' letter. So, particularly this campaign was a success for Greenpeace. And it is the consumer who wins here.

  • I think they do this because Apple is the leader in making enviromentally safe products and because they are a founding member of energy star. Apple has been above the game with getting rid of toxins as fast as it can and it even has it's iMac running with less power than a 60 watt light bulb.

  • HAHAHAHA!! i laughed out loud and laughed my ass off! nice

  • good video

  • I don't really care for Apple, but this is unfair. There are companies that are out there that are a lot worse.

This campaign did relatively nothing; like many of the wasteful actions of Green Peace.

  • When will you assholes from Greenpeace ever grasp the fact that no one cares about your organization or its platform? Why don't you and your fellow fascists from PETA do everyone a favor by fertilizing the earth with your rotting remains? The world wold truly be a "Greener" and better place.

  • Greenpeace are retarted, apple responsed to your nagging telling you what they have been doing long before you started picking on them.

  • FUCK YOU... ASS HOLE

  • that is soo not our beloved steve

  • WOW, there are really some ignorant people who post here. This video is just about the stupidest thing ever.

  • Hm... I don't understand why Greenpeace is always picking on Apple. All Computer vendors are putting much crap in their products.

  • you obviously don't get the purpose here, do you?! had you taken the time to actually check out the website, instead of writing this pointless and ignorant comment, you would have realized that greenpeace is not picking on Apple, but rather wanting it to become a role model in green technology! If somebody can go 'green', then it's Apple. This video isn't geared against Apple, but to raise awareness and inspire the consumers to make a change.

  • Easy :) I really don't see your point here. Why has Apple to be the "role model"? Because of the name? Why not go with fair trade and Java developers then. I mean, it is a common problem, no matter what brand. I think it is contraproductive to focus it just on one vendor.

  • I know what you mean, but it's not the name, more the whole image Apple has. They know more about a clean design than most other IT companies, so why not use it as an opportunity to become truly green, beyond just the design. Also, Apple dumps their waste in lovely e-waste yards in China and India, threatening the lives of those living there, due to the toxic fumes. This could easily be changed, which is what this campaign is trying to achieve. Apple will listen to the consumers.

  • "Apple dumps their waste in lovely e-waste yards in China and India, threatening the lives of those living there, due to the toxic fumes."

Why would you say that? Maybe you saw a video of an e-waste yard, and you saw some Macs in the video (probably hard to pick out from all the non-Macs around them), and so you decided it must be Apple doing it. Big e-waste companies buy in bulk, from dumps, etc. worldwide--places Apple has no control over--and THEY send it to these places.

  • you can't tell me apple doesn't have the power to stop that!

and just so all you know, i am not from greenpeace myself and i am a Mac user. yes, i think apple is great and I'm not boycotting their products or anything, i just think that the customers have the power to make any company change its ways for the better. and if you don't agree with it then just shut up. it's not hurting any of you, is it? no. but it does hurt people in LEDC who are affected by this. stop pissing about everything!

  • Certainly Apple could do more to encourage proper recycling of its products, and making products with fewer toxic chemicals, and they should be reminded of that. But my point was that the items Apple takes in for recycling, don't get sent overseas--I think it's important to clarify that.

  • Also, Apple may be getting unfair marks from Greenpeace--Apple has been doing more than Greenpeace says. Though Greenpeace's efforts are generally in the right direction, a lot of their scoring method might give too much weight to what companies SAY they're going to do, instead of what they ARE doing. But it looks like all the accusations against Apple have had some effect:

    appleDOTcom/hotnews/agreenerapple

(I had to mess with the URL since YouTube won't let you post URLs)

  • wat's next?!...some bullshit i bet...LOL

  • hey... fuck u radicals at greenpeace. u deserved to get kicked out of MacExpo.

  • This thread just shows how 'dumb' most humans are especially when it comes to the environmental issue. BUT if you're going to agree with Greenpeace and you want to help the planet then you need to change what you eat, change what you wear, and stop doing a gazillion other things you do everyday that rapes our planet OK? Otherwise JUST SHUT UP.

  • what fuckin' dumb comments below. shut up already, who are you talking to? no one hears you.

  • what does jobs always look so QUEER; no that there anything wrong for being QUEER.

  • LOOOOOL really Apple sucks

  • wow this video really sucks

  • First of all show me a computer that is in production that has no hazardous materials, and I will show you a picture of Steve Jobs giving you the finger.

  • Revolution??bull shit.copy of LG KE850 with some features.Dont be so naive boys.

  • I don't really find it funny but spoof is very well done. They captured Steve Job's delivery perfectly, as well as the typical keynote Apple has done for years. Except for the load of nonsense, I actually could believe that that was at a Mac World.

  • Greenpeace.

    Get a life.

  • Sure you were.

  • steve jobs is a snake.he takes whatever he wants from u while he is weak and once he becomes more powerful he wants to destroy u despite the fact that u helpd him.

  • Am I missing something? Why are Greenpeace so concerned about a 200 gram music player when 50 billion gallons of aviation fuel are used annually? Is it because Greenpeace are more interested in raising their profile than in preventing global warming? Or could it be because their Executive Directors enjoy scuba diving in the carribbean?

  • wtf??

  • Apple = Evil

  • fucked up

  • Apple...The next Microsoft!

  • Also a little slanderous to say apple employ chineese kids to make their products - do you have any evidence of this?

  • nonono, you've got it wrong lol. when some computer products are trashed they go to china where they're hauled into huge junkyards, and eventully the lead and other chemicals in the products leak into the soil, water, and air in china harming the children and anyone living near the places. its on greenmyapple's website.

  • "and eventully the lead and other chemicals in the products leak into the soil, water, and air in china harming the children" Then where in the hell do you think this stuff cam from in the first place? Your ass?

  • Not the product I was hoping for - kinetic energy from you body only works if your moving. not good if you're sat at the airport or on a train particularly with video.

  • Good for jogging

  • Whoah. Cool. I would almost buy that. But i prefer waiting for the Amiga to make a comeback. And i also prefer Sea Shepheard to Greenpeace.

  • HELLO... SPOOF = There isn't really a Green iPod, watch steve's lips he's not saying that. Duh!

  • 8-/

  • The weird thing is that these Greenies are all about getting rid of PVC and lead and the rest, but they don't have a clue on what they could be replaced or substituted with. If someone can tell me that there ARE reliable replacements which will not increase the price of Apple's products, and are good for the environment, please let me know. And tell Jobsy. kthxbai.

  • Wow, a standing ovation for that tosser? To what is this world coming??

  • wow, this is pure propoganda, poorly done, patronising and insulting to everyone who actually gives a shit. Did Greenpeace authorise this or are you just a cocktail....a cocksucking cowboy?

  • greenpeace suck.

  • Interesting & funny although I am sure not anywhere close to accurate...

  • Groups like them don't like to be ingonred. But think of it this way... apple already offers a recylcing program!!! which is something green peace doesn't really focus on. Also, apple has only a 2% market share with their computers.

  • So, I submit to you that even with the other computer companies promising (which doesn't mean they're actually gonna do it) to cut back on harmfull chemicals in their computers they're still putting out far more harmfull chemicals apple ever could. With all of the other things green peace could really be focusing on, why are they didcating all of this time to Apple??

  • Green peace is a bunch of far left loons. Groups like green peace thrive off of their ego. They try to be a voice for the people and take credit for themselves when companies decide to get more green. It just makes me laugh because green peace isn't getting any attention over this. No one really cares... including apple and that makes them angry. (cont >)

  • green iPod would be great... but why is this video called a SPOOF?!

  • rubbish Greenpeace just bashing apple...

o yea and who gave them money last year? Microsoft which of course with vista is causing much more polluting then apple ever could with their ipods....

  • stupid

  • Apple is actually a founding member of energy star. Their Imacs, for instance use less power thana 60 watt Light bulb and they are always way head of energy star requirements. Apples has alsp had recycling programs since 1994.

  • If pollution ever goes away, Greenpeace zealots will have to get real jobs. BTW, does Greenpeace offer a pc?

  • GreenPeace, you rascals- you didn't tell us you used Windows Movie Maker to edit this!

  • Electricity is evil. Good thing ipods run on farts.

  • i think its funny how you post a video on how iPods should be recyclable, when that is the least of the worlds problems. why dont you make a video about todays cars, or how everything in our houses require electricity by which we burn fossil fuels to aquire. an iPod. made of (probably recyclable aluminum) with a, let me emphasize "RECHARGABLE BATTERY", is the least of our problems. greenmyapple? get a life!

  • Thank you Greenpeace!

  • I would buy that!

    x

  • I think all tech producers have to clean up their act. I love my G4 and iPod but I have seen photo evidence of computer related waste in China. Whole landscapes of dead tech. All of it containing toxic waste. Us greedy westerners have to realize the impact our comfortable capitalistic lifestyle has on the hidden third world workforce. I expect most of the 'nay sayers' here will choose to keep their heads firmly planted in the sand. It makes me sad.

  • thats because china has no standards. they work for basically pennies and their government allows it. Wal-Mart exports 3 billion dollars worth of supplies and waste (paper, and plastic in return for cardboard boxes and such) and imports the same supplies, which are now products, for a revenue of 32 BILLION DOLLARS! i agree we need to change our lifestyle, but so does the rest of the world.

  • Think globally, act locally. Taking the approach of "they don't do much to help so why should I" can only have one result. The whole world doing nothing because everybody is pointing the finger at the other guy. Its a very common tactic used by politicians.

  • well greenpeace is like this kind of annoying child that always wants something it will never get and for this result, they just do everything. i mean, you guys are totally stupid. nodody likes dirty hippies wich smell just as you guys do. (and the thing with brent spar some years ago, pff...)

  • Nobody likes Birtesbruder who means: 'you guys are totally stupid'? Please do not call greenpeace an annoying child and then insult them like an annoying child. Is everybody offended because their iPod is not that heavenly as they thought. Wake up, people, the world does need some respect. We can't keep on denying the mess we've made and close our eyes and listen to our iPods all day. pff... on you guys!!

  • the only one who smells here is you

  • I always thought greenpeace was nice, after this, not anymore!

  • lol, you believe what a company (that wants your money) is telling you, insted of believing a non-gubernamental organisation that only wants to save our planet, you know what ... YOU SUCK .

And tell Apple, that mini hard disk reduce exponentialy the duration of you batteries from your iPod, GEEK

  • if i wanted to be 'green' i would live in a cabin in the mountains.

i like a little toxic waste with my computer thank you

  • What a waste of electricity. I agree with Ecth3l1on, I WANT MY TIME BACK!!! Who cares if Apple doesn' take back their products (or at least didn't) it's their choice. STUPID HIPPIE GREENPEACE!!!

By the way, they are why the Free Willie whale is dead.

  • Sophomoric.

  • we can donly dream?

  • Please don't comment unless you've researched the facts, regardless of what your opinion is. Check out a Canadian film called Manufactured Landscapes. It may help you understand what is behind the Greenpeace campaign to get Apple to "green" their products. It really is astonishing!

  • There is a trailer on YouTube. Just search for Manufactured Landscapes. It looks interesting.

  • Gimme back my 2minutes!! What a crap..

  • This is great! And it shows one of the few downsides of Apple products: They are "dirty".

Not just if you measure components, but also compared to other producers.

They lead on practicality and design. Why not lead on environmental and sustainable development criteria? Show the world that you're the best, also for future generations!

I really love my iPod and agree with Greenpeace: just wish it was greener. It's easy. Just do it Apple

  • one more thing to say, the people who have lied and being saying nasty stuff about GP are idiots, greenpeace protect the world we live in, buy an apple product, and ruin the world.

  • gay

  • Screw you all, you ignorants

Apple is the target because it is the market leader in selling mp3 players

  • Sure, I know that Apple are the market leader in digital music devices, but so what? That doesn't make them an environmentally irresponsible company.

I don't want to sound 'ignorant', but lets not forget that the iPod uses a rechargeable battery, reducing waste and overall power consumption drastically.

It would seem that politics have become a bigger motivation to Greenpeace than the environment.

  • No, Apple is the target because they're drastically behind every other leading manufacturer of PCs and peripher
