because the sand worm is healed by earth it would heal it but stone would kill it

And btw, it didn't die, it turned to stone. But because it was the only enemy left, it wouldn't have been able to bring itself back, so it was programmed to die.

@Cinj216 Kain's a physical attacker, he does 1/2 damage from the back row.

@PokeymanTrainer At some point, Edge's physical capabilities become on par with Kain's. Personally, I also used this formation as well. Edge's magic isn't always useful and it's not something you'd want to use all the time due to his rather low MP. Kain's jump will do the same damage regardless of whether he's in the front or the back.

It really comes down to personal preference.

The Cockatrice summon deals Earth damage AND petrifies a target. What happened is that the Sandworm absorbed the Earth damaged, but also got petrified so it died instantly.

@Aang84 The Goblin, Bomb, Mindflayer and the Cockatrice are all very rare drops. Just patience and good luck.

One question..why did you add part of the games ending in the description?

I say that the Cockatrice summon has an elemental affinity to it which heals the send worm, but the effect of Petrify still killed it.

I think you're 100% correct. The damage-element healed it but the petrification still took effect.

Not a glitch. The battle system appears to be programmed to calculate damage and then calculate status for an attack that damages and inflicts a status effect. The cockatrice is earth element damage which the worm absorbs but is vulnerable to petrify which hits it after.

Well wasn't it a damage attack/ petrify attack? If so, the earthen damage would easily be absorbed but it probably got afflicted with the petrify and died ;P Interesting though :P

Haha... i remember when i had just killed the Octomammoth in this game and was just about to go into Kaipo to heal and I ran into one of those and got pwned cuz i had such low hp. Thats cool that you got cockatrice. I've been trying to get it forever.
