  • This is one band I am sorry I never had the pleasure of seeing live. On the other hand I've had the honor of seeing his spoken word performance many times. Wish Rollins would do more gigs here in the DC area

  • I don't think Chris Haskett ever gets enough props as a guitar player.

  • This man is a legend.Great performance and very glad to be there

  • i've just found my new favourite band (sorry AC/DC)

  • great performance rollins <3

  • not many prformers like him left

  • rollins never fails to impress! yes!

  • what better example of the power of bass in a song? gibbs managed/manages to re-write the rock bass book over the course of the album 'weight'. the tone, the melodies, the reharmonisation and messed up blue notes remain for me the most important approach to electric rock bass in the last 25 years. i guess its not surprising given his resume! viva rollins band! viva gibbs! viva ornette coleman!

  • this is from that late night gary crowley show on itv, right? i don´t suppose you have the version of liar from reading ´94 that was shown that night too?

  • I miss the 90's so much!!!

  • @foosonic i don't

  • @chrisdrage1 oh man, so my 90's was much better than yours.

    Peace.

  • @foosonic sorry, i sounded kinda harsh, my 90's was probably shit cos i was only born in 93 and i didn't know what was going on

  • @chrisdrage1 its ok man, no problem. The internet is there, you can always back through time and discover amazing bands, and i sure you will love the 90's like i do.

    Peace bro.

  • fodonica

  • Enjoy this cos he may never play live with a band again, as he feels the band are going through the motions,, and are sometimes too high or drunk to play. When he relies upon himself he gives 3 hours solid a night.

Best performer of the last 3 decades

  • WEEEEE Heuw!!!!! countdown topper! : ) .. wantta disconnect myself......1000 miles an hour goin' nowhere fast.....lookin' through the details of my past.....talking about the damage wasting my time.....WANT TO BE THE KING OF THINGS STAYING IN LINE..... ALL THE NUMBERS AND THE COLORS AND THE FACTS......BACKED BY THE RUMORS AND THE FIGURES AND THE STATS......they are gonna download my mind

  • Such an underrated band

  • i was ere, remember my dad showin me a picture of this guy with a fat neck, tellin me 'hes on next', i was like 'cool'

  • haha, nice.

  • henry is an angry man.

  • Was there - happy days.

  • Is this song the performance from the "Weighting"?

  • my fuxin hero

  • that bassline is killer...

  • look, it's liar! liar liar liar!!!! hehehe

  • chris haskett fucking kills,so underrated

  • How does Melvin Gibbs get these evil sounds? Damn ...!

  • he is wicked

  • Check out Sensers new album How to do battle. We toured with Rollins in about 94, ah, the good old days

  • Senser still going? Cheers for the heads up, will check it out :)

  • @mikeyblag ye senser still kickin it, 2 albums since stacked up keepin the senser sound

  • gud he is!!!!! :-)

  • rollins had such a fucking glow on him before a show with black flag and rollins band....... to watch him get amped and focused was entertaining itself. henry is very intune with himself and uses it to fuel his shows.......and it honestly does make it that much better of a show.

  • are you have: Right Here, Too Much

    thanks

  • Awesome...

  • I was there! And I even distinctly remember how much this song rocked!

  • Just watched disconnct when he did it in '06. He still looks amazing and he still has "it", funny I like him bettr older than youngr.

  • Just did the same thing...Disconnect, 8.1.06. NYC :)) He's such an amazing guy, watched tons of his talk shows, gigs and many other stage (or off stage) performances and I gotta say, the awesomeness is still very much strong in him. Great video ;)

  • The Lord Byron of Metal.

    Respect is due.

...but I'd kick his ass in the 5th dimension.

  • @Hellishcrusade He'd kick yours, certainly

  • rollins band and jesus lizard should tour together.

  • Not only does this guy eat emo kids for breakfast, but a raw egg with tacks for a snack at times.

  • Saw them in Barcelona around the same time - a superb gig. He's one angry SOB. Listening to them has got me through some hard times.

  • This song fucking rocks so hard

  • Melvin Gibbs was one the best choices in Henry's life

  • Henry Rollins!!! What else can you say.....THE MUSIC says it all...

  • Oh no! Someone stole Henry's shirt, socks and shoes!!!

Just kidding-- I listened to Rollins Band back in the 90's, wasn't a big fan of his spoken word stuff... He actually did a pretty nice set on Request Video (back on Channel 56 here in CA) in the late 90's, I'm sure I still have it in VHS somewhere...

  • I was at this gig!

  • Henry Rollins eats emo-kids for breakfast.

  • BAD ASS MUSIC FOR A WORKOUT!!!!!!

  • man that bass player is a monster.........

  • Don't mess with a guy who plays 6-string bass...

  • the guy could kick some ass

  • for everyone who asked what happened to the good music, a lot of persons keep playing amazing music, its just the discs records doesnt want that kind of music. it wont sell a shit

  • One of the best live shows I've ever seen was this band.

  • i was in the crowd. it seems like only 15 years ago

  • You know,Henry kind of looks like Colin Farrell or Colin Farrell looks like Henry Rollins! These guys should do some kind of movie together.

  • Yea rollins could stuff that pussy into a phonebooth lol

  • I saw this tour at the Masquerade in Atlanta. Sausage opened up, then Rollins Band, and then Helmet. Rollins Band rocked my face off. It poured down rain during the Helmet set. Shit, that was awesome!!!!!!!!!!

  • MAN....I wish I could have seen them back then. My stepdad saw them on this tour in Orlando and he said it was the best concert he had ever seen. THIS IS BAD-ASS.

  • heh heh. I was 8. I still have a Rollins band shirt from when one of my bros went and saw one of their shows. Liar is still one of my favourite songs of all time. Oh, the 90s were so rife with good fucking music.. What happened?

  • i love this band and especially this song, too bad i was 3 years old when this shit happened

  • even more impressive since you "decided" (?!) to like this kind of music, which is kinda deeper, as to compared to what other kids listen to nowadays...

    thumps up

  • dont even get me started about the shit that my generation listens to. if i hear the jonas brothers or lil wayne one more time i may just chop my ears off. or seriously hurt someone else.

  • Your not the only one who feels that way

  • We are the lucky ones that still listen to good music from our generation

  • fuck! i was in the pit for this.

    Awesome times!

  • BEAVIS: Hey Butthead, check it out! It's "Liar!" You know... "Liar, liar, I'll rip your guts out! I'll kick your ass! Liar!"

BUTTHEAD: Shut up! Those aren't the words!

  • They wrote the matrix after this song.... just kidding. This is genious.

  • Great performance,i remember him being cheered on then he started winding the crowd up by slagging England off and everyone was going fucking mental at him but he loved it and thrived on the energy........

soundgarden were supposed headline but pulled out,and the chillipeppers filled the spot.

oh yeah it fucking pissed down.

  • Henry is returning to Reading Festival 14 years on with his stand-up routine!

I'll be watching him at the Leeds leg. =)

  • i saw him at reading this year he was fucking funny

  • What I always loved about these guys is that no one in the crowd ever knows quite how to react.

I still have not heard anything that compares to these guys. Melvin, Chris and Sim were just the biggest power house for Hank to rant with. Awesome.

  • You mean Henry

  • His birth name is Hank but people just call him Henry (Reply to: devil6lock)

  • Andrew Weiss

    Melvin

All great bass players. Between them and Sim Cain on drum Rollins had a massive engine chugging there behind him. No wonder he used to nuts.

    Brilliant stuff.

  • reminds me of MAYNARD

  • Hank is at least ten times as intense as Maynard onstage. Tool is great though - Hank makes a guest apppearance on their song "Bottom." Tool also toured with Rollins Band back in the day.

  • Holy shit, nice post, i was at this gig !

  • its interesting to see the sort of stuff he did with blackflag, and then to this.

its got some funk to it.

  • what a bassline

  • Henry rules

  • Rollins is bad ass! Saw them once live! worth it! and they're not exspensive weird......

  • great moves, haha. Dont get me wrong. I fucking love him!!!

  • the best rollins band line-up! bass [this distorted sound] and drums are nothing but brilliant!

  • Holy shit! I can't believe how many people are at this thing! I was only 10 when this was going. That must have been so uplifting for the band to have a live audience that huge. I wish I could have been there.

  • Band and Man, there both just fucking awsome. plain and simple fucking awsome

  • been into rollins for nearly 20 years, fukkin rules.

  • I was there, my first festival - so many awesome bands!

  • that's fucking awesome-Kyuss AND rollins band on the same bill. dammit you're lucky

  • good performance

  • "sinik123" you are inept. You don't know anything about Henry Rollins. Shut the fuck up, and to some research, before opening you're cocksucking mouth.

  • that shows you rly dunno him.

  • i was at this........fucking great

    xxclairexx

  • Fuck yeah Rollins is the man.

  • wish they were still around

  • they are still around, check vids from april 2007

  • Sick *****

  • Search & Destroy!!!!!

  • I dont care what band u are in,but u just coulnd´t have followed this Rollins band line-up to the stage,no wayyyy, this line up is killing everything in its path, yeehaaaw, now its time to disconnect myself from the net --->

  • I was there too...13 years ago!...holy moley! (probably as old as GoranDzidic is, could be 12?...got issues, anyway, if he fancies Rollins)
