  • I'd read somewhere years ago that Werner Klemperer and Robert Cleary were, in real life, prisoners of war during WWII. Werner even said that if they ever portrayed Klink as smart he'd walk off the show.

    Bridget

  • Klink, Schultz and Burkhalter all disliked

  • i love this show, ive seen every single episode over and over again. Why is it all the good shows end?

  • looks like an american version of dads army

  • its funny how they dont treat the p.o.ws like crap

  • Best snare drum intro ever! (Sorry, I'm a drummer). Woohoo!!!! :)

  • As a kid, I used to love Schultz.

  • the cartoon recess stole ther theme from this =p

  • when i first saw this show, i thought hulk hogan would be in it, lol

  • 3 people are going to spend 30 days in the cooler!!!

  • 20 years after World War II ended, American were able to laugh at the kooky adventures of prisoners of war in Germany. The Vietnam War ended 38 years ago. When are they going to make a sitcom about the nutty hijinks that occurred in Vietnamese POW camps? Here, I'll give you a catchphrase for the lovable Sgt. Nguyen for free: "Di Di Mau! Di Di Mau!"

  • "18 days in the Cooler...."

  • great show, great show

  • SHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUULTZ!

  • This was my absolute favorite show when I was eight. :D

  • A great theme to a great comedy show! It is broadcasted on a station called KDOC at like 2:30AM! If I am up on a weekend, I'll watch it! Thanks for uploading it here!

  • Thanks to all who pointed out that the 'cocaine' is actually fake snow. Had I not been joking I'd never have guessed... ;o)

  • @MrSteverapposelli Robert Clary is not the only remaining cast member alive, Richard Dawson who plays the part of Corporal Peter Newkirk is also alive.

  • I always loved this show as a kid, great theme tune. But what's with all the cocaine everywhere at the start?

  • @BackToTheBlues That would be "fake snow" provided by the higher ups at CBS.

  • @BackToTheBlues This is not cocaine but fake snow as hogans heroes is based on WWII life in a German Luft Stalag.

  • oh Schultz.... I KNOW NOTHING!

  • I see nothing!!!!

  • This show is a true classic.

    I SEE NOTHING!!

  • I used to think a Kommandantur was some kind of a door (eine Tur), since the sign was right next to a door.

  • @TnseWlms Kommandantur is basically the name for Office, Staff Office or Staff.

  • @TnseWlms Kommandantur is basically the name for Office, Staff Office, Staff or Commanding Officers Quarters.

  • as of 2010 there are only 2 cast members left. Louie LaBeau and Peter Newkirk First names were as follows Robert E Hogan Peter Newkirk Louie LaBeau Andrew Carter James Kinchloe (Although his first name was mentioned as IVAN in one episode where he was an African Prince) Richard Baker(replaced Kinch in final season) Hans Shultz Wilhelm Klink
  • BOB CRANE WASS HOTT!!!!!

  • Clary was the youngest of 14 children. At the age of twelve, he began a career singing professionally. In 1942, because he was Jewish, he was deported to the Nazi concentration camp, Buchenwald with 12 other members of his immediate family. Clary was the only survivor.

  • Schultz looks so pleased with himself when he returns that salute to Klink.

  • HEIL KRÄUTER

    hahaha

  • One of the best shows in it's time. Brings back fond memories. Thanx

  • i playe3d this song in band for the winter concert

  • Great show. i love it. usually on when i wake up so i watch it in the morning.

  • @SketchyPeenut Yes. Most people wake up in the morning. Great show.

  • REICH REICH REICH!

  • If they ever made a movie or a revamp of this great series, I could see John Lithgow as Col. Klink. Thoughts?

  • Hiel Kieser Shults! He's my favorite.

  • Leon Askin (General Burkhalter) was Jewish & fled the Nazi's in 1930s. He joined the US Army and while serving learned that both his parents had been murdered at While serving in the military he learned that his parents had been killed at Treblinka extermination camp.

  • @DeltaFoxtrotWhiskey3 Werner Klemperer was Jewish too. Isn't it ironic that jews would play the role of nazi germans?

  • @DeltaFoxtrotWhiskey3 Yeah that is crazy ironic, I can't see how anybody could put on a German uniform with the swastika on it after that, but I guess these actors were able to look past that and see that making NAZIs look like fools was the ultimate revenge.

  • @Caterpillarjon That generation wasn't politically correct, THEY WERE REAL! Reality wasn't meant to offend, it's just REAL.. The swastika was a REAL thing, with REAL people following it.. Do you honestly think that just because you don't see it anymore, that those kind of Facist/socialists don't exist anymore? LOL, the same kind of Authoritarian Megalomaniacs are running the USA right now!

  • When I was a kid I used to think that Bob Crane was Captain Kirk from Star Trek and Ivan Dixon was Lamont from Sanford and Son..LOL

  • ok kool thanx :D

  • @zalkoomz Some call it the Heroes March, Hogans March or the Hogans Heroes March. Others just call it the "Hogans Heroes Theme Song".

  • Werner Klemperer who played Klink is Jewish and just turned 89.

  • SonOfGod1966 - Werner Klemperer transitioned from cancer on December 6, 2000. Confirm it at Wikipedia.

  • Ummm, WK died in 2000.

  • @DeltaFoxtrotWhiskey3 The End of a Great Actor and musical career. :(

  • HOGAN!

    I SEE NUSSING!

I wish that I was alive when this show was on the air. Man, the re-runs are funny!

  • bet this silly tune was a toned down version of the pamzerlied which was

a romantic song hijacked by the reich.

  • I remeber when you showed me this show a month ago.

  • R.I.P., Bob Crane!
