  • This video and song give me goosebumps.

  • At the minute 2:21 you can see the disfigured face of Paul McCartney or 2:22 in the left window of the police car, i think that he had blood in the image (in his mouth and in his nose)

  • @TheMonsecat Wikipedia xD

  • if you look at the guy walking away from the grave you can see through him

  • Love this video.it is done so well.

  • whats is the name of this sing pleaseeee!!! i wanna download it.!!

  • @alepunky what about buying? great music

  • @alepunky clue is in the title :-)

  • @alepunky

It's called Free as a bird

  • Ironically one of John and Pauls best 'collaborations'....

  • 353 likes, and 5 trolls.

  • 3:17 - 3:37 IT'S NOT MAGIC! IT'S PERFECTION!!

  • フリーアズバード最高!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhhh that slide! i miss George. there will be no other

  • the weird voice at the end says "made by John Lennon" its creepy

  • 3:14 blue meaine

  • play that slide George !

  • 3:50 Einstein

  • I see things like this in my dreams.

  • this video tellos the whole Beatle history

  • @sergiocable correct you are, it is about their career, I am not sure what the people dressed as pigs are supposed to respresent though.

  • @Floobegusted its a song by them called little piggy i think, idk y they put it in the vid its one of their lesser known songs

  • I'm assuming that comment is a joke.

  • buena musicaaaaaaaaa for erver beatles jr.. PÊRU

  • wait who made this? when did it come out?

this is my new favorite vid its amazing

  • john made it and it came out a long time ago this is just remastered

  • i knew john wrote it... i meant the video

  • @TobiasSullivan this is a beatles song and vid, it came out in late 1995

  • This is my favorite song right now. So good. And this video is amazing! 5 stars!

  • Awesome video. Terrific song.

  • Love this video! Who could be better than the Beatles??

  • did u guys see pauls face at the back of the window of the ambulance?

  • Just PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I don't regard this as a true Beatles music. The Beatles died in 1970. Anything beyond that is made by the members of the surviving Beatles.

  • this song is so dreamy

  • George's solo in this song is one of the best solos ive ever heard, long live The Beatles

  • sleepwalk

  • is that ringo when it goes to strawberry fields

  • the beatles in the 90s

  • I love the way the video traces all the Beatles work (the nurse, the banker, the barber,in Penny Lane) the cake shop with a happy 64th birthday. Strawberry Field, Ravi Shankar,Elanor Rigby,s grave and Father Mackenzie walking away wiping his hands.

Paul dancing to a background of the mull of Kintyre.

and at the end the most famous crossing in the world Abbey Road.

  • Think I can correct you there - The mull of Kintyre bit is actually "The Long & Winding Road"

  • Love this beatles song, love George Harrisons solo's alot!

  • Yep!

  • The words at 1:46 to 2:11 alwasy makes me think, when they got older and started to break up and they got into drugs and were not "the mop-top Beatles" anymore...

  • check out my playlist of the best 69 classic rock songs ever this song included

  • this was recorded after johns death though

  • That anthology set is so good.

  • One of the best songs and videos ever made!

  • One of the "BEST" songs ever made.

  • I wonder how accurate the depiction of Beatles era Liverpool is in this video, but I love this video because that aspect is so fascinating to me! What was it like living in Beatles time in Liverpool?! This video shows a glimpse of that!!! Lovely, but such a sad video!!

  • I am happy to see the Beatles weren't all about the money, otherwise they would have gone out with Julian or Sean before George died.

  • There is a video that explains and shows the references of the beatles song "Free as a bird".

Type in: 'beatles - free as a bird (with references)'

  • just before the crash scean at 2.22 there is a messed up picture of pauls head in the police van window as "he blew his mind out in a car"

  • to iseeredpeoples:

ha ha. it sort of does look like that. i hope you don't actually believe the 'paul is dead' crap, though... it's histerically messed up stupidity, lol.

  • Sweeet, just sweet. thank you to whomever posted this.

  • there is a video that shows all the meanings, type in "The Beatles - Free as a bird (with references)"

    Please comment

  • it's like standing on an empty avenue while you see paul and ringo having coffee.

  • greatest band ever...if you like music at all, you love the BEATLES----and ELVIS PRESLEY

  • george and john are, some people say paul is too.

  • yes apart from john lennon he was shot.

  • nope

  • I'm so glad they managed to pur John's voice in the song, I think he would have glad to do it if he were alive.

  • @maxx5rocker You are completely right.

  • I'm so glad they managed to pur John's voice in the song, I think he would have glad to do it if he were alive.

  • This video always blow me away

  • its like a great film, you can watch again and again, time less, a Beatles song Released in our life time.

  • Yes, Great video!

    Yes, Great song!

  • stop at 2:20

    paul is dead

  • Ah a favourite song of mine,I remember when it was released everyone was slagging the song off saying it was rubbish compared to the rest of their stuff but this song is just as good and has and will last the test of time.

  • does any one know what the head poppin out of the roof at 3:15? i know im wrong but it looks like a blue meanie sorta

  • It was a Blue Meanie.

  • beautiful sounding

  • Great video, great song.

  • Amazing video. <3

  • I thought I was the ultimate YouTube addict...having watched something like 12,541,298,069 videos, but this one takes the cake. My life is now complete.

  • I love this song. It is perfecrly mixed, i never thought it was possible to do what they did to this song.

  • i remixed this song with legendary rapper 2pac. you can watch:

    watch?v=oVnWDKb4uks

  • This song rules. When i first herd it I instanly liked it. The beatles are just great. Still around and atracting new fans.

  • Sweeet, just sweet. thank you to whomever posted this.

  • I was a boy in primary school in St Annes on Sea Lancashire at this time period and a Beatles fan so the street life is a sentimental trip back in time. Very well done video in homage to the beatles. They did the best they could with Johns left cassette demo.

  • lol the guy playing the banjo at the end! he's my hero!

  • That's meant to be George Formby, I believe.

  • Yes it is meant to be George Formby, George Harrison was a fan. In 1936 Formby lived in St Annes Lancs. My mother was walking 4 dogs on the beach and a stray scotty followed them home. The collar tag said it was George Formbys so she took it to his house on Clifton Drive on the waterfront.

  • LOL

  • The performer plays a Banjo-Uke, and is George Formby, a British music hall performer of the 30s & 40s.

Formby was known to say "it's turned out nice again," which is the backwards

message heard at the end of the song.

  • This is one of my favorites! I dont get tired of listening to this song, it's pretty sad song though but who the hell cares, its the beatles!

  • It's unusual for a song to be both creepy AND boring, but this pulls it off. Just plain wrong on so many levels, as they say; never shouldda happened.

  • I love the Blue meanie on the roof!

  • isnt george great on this track...

  • Outstanding his guitar playing was so underrated hewas one of the best... top 3 w/o a doubt!!!

  • not the most spectacular beatles song, but the video is absolutely astounding.

  • If you enjoyed this video or even the song, come see my parody video of it. Same music, different video. WAY DIFFERENT!

  • Where would the world of music be today without the contributions of the greatest band in history...? THE BEATLES!!!

  • The first time I saw this video I got goose bumps at 4:18. The car that is passing through is further in the background on the album cover, so they are just about to walk across the road as the camera pulls away. It's so cool.

  • This video is fantastic, every frame remember a moment of beatles' history ( inckluding the Paul is dead theory with the caracident). Great.

  • I love this song (and Real Love) but it always freaks me out a little hearing the Lennon vocals!

  • this is great to see younger kids into the beatles...I'm no adult or expert by any means (I'm 19) but the beatles were/are revolutionary in every sense of the word. My parents did the best thing in letting me run around to abbey road when I was 2 years old...and its impacted my life ever since :)

  • BEATLES!!! Still more revolutionary than many stuff today! Tecnically they are the biginners of the reinassance of poular music. Love them!!

  • still to me, the greatest musicians and rock group of all time.

most of the artists today will not have appeared if not for the fab4...

fascinating that even after they've broken up, and after one has died (2 already), they were still able to release this single (and an album) that sold millions!!

  • Beatle Forever....

    RIP John Lennon

    Free as a birb...

  • God bless Saint George Harrison

  • im 14 and i listen to watever i want im not afraid to admit anything from big bill broonzy to bob dylan, the beatles rule and i want people to know it!

  • Well my parents tryed to raise me with country yeah didnt work i discovered stuff like the beatles on my own and let me say im glad I did. Oh yeah and I'm only 14.. I dont mind admiting i listen to the beatles much better then most stuff made nowadays anyways

  • to think people actually consider stuff like justin timberlake and whoever else compariable to this or better is laughable as well as sicking. without the beatles stuff like that would cease to excist

  • incredible song... and the video too

    thanks for the upload

  • Jesus why does the world lose talent such as this it really doesnt make sense to me

  • Glad I found this -its very special and the video is awesome -thankyou Beatles

  • JOHN

  • danthemantohs77

THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING THIS VIDEO, I REALLY APPRICIATE IT, YOU MADE MY DAY...

Gracias por haber subido este video, te lo agradezco de todo corazon, hiciste mi dia... tengo una sonrisa en mi cara que no se me quitara en todo el dia... GRACIAS

  • Paul found this song by John Lennon. Him, George and Ringo did some major studio dubbing and turned it into a Beatle song. Just breathtaking to someone like me that grew up on Beatle music in the 60's. Plus, just having the 26th anniversary of John's death just sort of made me all sentimental and all....Best band of all time, bar none!

  • ? Yoko gave him the demo cassette

  • remarkeable song - a nice tribute to John by those who experienced so much with him ,thanks for the info

  • Where they on drugs when they did this song wich song was it ?

  • most of them (how else could you come up with something like 'we all live in a yellow sub'?) lol

  • "26 years ago today we lost a legend. This is of course the last original Beatles song ever released. From 1996 this is Free as a bird on today's best classic rock, Q-107 fm"

  • that looks like it might be the same house from the imagine film clip, with john

  • i first saw this video back in november of 1995 when it premiered on ABC. i was 14 back then and i can honestly say it changed my life forever.

  • you became a Beatles fan ? - just happening for me and its great

  • Sorry to barge in the conversation. I discovered the Beatles a scarce two weeks ago and the effect the music had on me is amazing. Their lyrics stab my senses and fuel my imagination. err... that came out a little dramatic.. haha

  • Exactly, how old are you? If you don't mind me asking. I have 2 boys that are in their teens and as much as they DON'T want to admit it, they love the BEATLES! I raised them on the BEATLES, as I was raised on them. I remember, when they were still together, and when they broke up..If you really like them, have you listened to their solo stuff, it's just as amazing! Enjoy...The rest of your life will be one awesome JOURNEY..Now, that's another awesome group! LOL

  • Haha. I'm 15. No , I have yet to listen to their solo work. JOURNEY? That sounds vaguely familar. Are they one of those cheesy 80s band that garned cult status by wearing buttless bottoms? Much lulz , Becca.

  • all these beatles bashers but I guess you'll always have them. People just don't realize what they did for music and the world.

  • what represents that old man that is playing the guitar at the last part o the video??? ..i dont understand...anybody can tell me?

  • THIS IS A GREAT SONG AND VID

  • So what's wrong with somebody calling this the greatest Beatles song ever? And who cares how it was made? As for me, the fact that they got together and made one last great song with John after he died is part of its beauty.

  • Man I watched this song when I was like 7 years old.

  • beatles best song? u taking the piss? it was made from some half recorded lennon tapes after his death. its an ok song but amazing vid

  • Good song and one of the best videos I've ever seen, a fantastic tribute to the greatest band of all time.

  • i love itt

  • The only song on which Paul McCartney used a Five string bass. You can hear the Low B thundering in some passeges if you listen good enough.

  • nice catch!

  • It's retrospective but great video.

  • great video...

  • I have seen this video and heard this song so many times, it touches me everytime! I love it!

  • Mugufugu STFU go listen to you bands who cant sing, write a song of this caliber. You have to be idiot to say that, its a good song not there best, video def was fantastic love it. By the way if you dont like a band or a song dont be a fucking douche bag about it. go listen to some Coldplay there horrible lyrics and 3 chord crap PEACE!

  • One of the Best Beatles video. It is filled with clues to Beatles songs. It is on Anthology 1

  • Its on one of the anthologies

  • This has got to be the beatles best song and certianly the best beatles video ever. Its a great summary of the Beatles amazing history.

  • What a thrill to remember those years of happyness compare to to-day where informations overwhelme your life like an intoxication of lies & bullshit talk to silent the people of earth-miss that time of insousciance

  • best song the beatles ever made

  • This isn't a beatles song.

    Is from Lennon

  • i hate facts.

  • Es un tema de lennon. Que problema tenes con eso?

  • Pardom my French:

Holy SHIT!!!! That was one of the greatest music videos I've ever seen! Thanks for posting it...

  • This video is like having a dream about the Beatles-- a perfect dream with a perfect song playing.

  • Comment removed

  • well, this was produced by jeff lynne!

  • Nothing compares to these four!!!!

  • LOS MEJORES DE LA HISTORIA !!!!

  • sin duda

  • which album is this song on? or is it like rain?

  • You can find this song, along with "Real Love", on the Anthology 1 & 2. Great video, by the way. Love all the Beatley references.

  • Its on one the 3 anthologys....i love this song ^^

  • It is on the cd anthology 1. Lots of clues to songs on this video

  • great vidoeo

  • Too bad the Cavern is gone!

I would have loved to have been on that stage!!

    I am,

    George Vreeland Hill

  • GeorgeVreelandHill, the Cavern IS open. I went there a few weeks ago when the international Beatles week was on.

  • Not the original Cavern though. The original was demolished in the 70s. The one filmed for this music video is the one you can visit today and it's a copy.

  • Those of us who had the Beatles in our lives from their start will always miss them, and this is a fitting coda to the greatest band that ever was. It made me cry the first several times I saw it, too. Guess I'm just a sentimental old fool (not really!) I think it is sad that there aren't musicians of their caliber on the radio today. At least I haven't heard any lately...

  • A great band doing something like this is fraught with danger but it totally works and is a fantastic coda to the biggest phenomenon in English popular culture since Shakespeare

  • great shot's of Liverpool

  • Love it!

  • I cry everytime I watch this. It's a great song though, love it.

  • When I first heard this song, I just broke down and cried. The Beatles forever...

  • you have asked them all have you? go and drown yourself. no, thats rather harsh. just go and hit your head repeatedly against the wall

  • Every hearing specialist in the world also thinks it sounds the same too.

  • The bridge sounds a lot like "Remember Walking in the Sand" by the Shangri-Las. "Whatever happended to/The boy that I once knew" vs. "Whatever happened to/The life that we once knew". The Shangri-Las should sue.

  • Ginger, see a hearing specialist first thing in the morning. What a load of bollocks.

  • The similarities are noted in the book called "Revolution in the Head", which is a great commentary on all the songs the Beatles released. I think we should let it pass though, since Lennon wrote the words in the 70s and is no longer available to be sued.

  • lol. find the right lawyer. he'll find a way.

  • Awesome. Simply awesome.

I love all the symbols/references. And the song, of course. :D
