Could she talk any faster.. I bet she would cringe if she heard this now. I still think that she's.. erm.. Top .. though. I listen to her on Radio 2 now.
Back-end of June... would have thought the forthcoming summer mornings service was a more likely reason for Pres A not being available? Although they shift sets around very quickly so I'd be surprised if it took that long for a new set to go in.
More likely they just didn't have either the budget or desire to staff Pres A's gallery - using the Broomcupboard cost no more than putting up the BBC1 globe!
Yes I expect you're right, it was just so unusual at this point to see the BBC2 broom cupboard. Certainly don't remember it at any other point in my childhood (although I could be wrong)- more common with the early Schofield days which I don't really remember.
Wouldn't this have been one of the last Blue Peter episodes of the series? Obviously the following series was when they started using the "pots and pans" theme tune, though I don't know how well that really worked to be honest. They kept it for 5 years though.
Fancied Zoe Ball then, fancy Zoe Ball now :)

You can very faintly hear Zoe's talkback throughout this, perhaps another sign that the BBC2 continuity booth wasn't used that often

Did Zoe Ball have exclusive use of the word "top" or something?

Yes this was the last of the series - handover from Anthea Turner to Stuart Miles, will upload some clips from that at some point.
