  • Do they have King? just wonder...

  • lol nope

  • No either a Prime Minister or President, I think it is the latter

  • di Indonesia banyak raja ataupun sultan...

Sri Sultan contohnya yang sampai sekarang masih aktif (keraton Yogja). Kerajaan Melayu; Kerajaan Mataram, Kesultanan Deli (Medan), Kesultanan Siak (Riau), Kerajaan di Sulawesi dll.

  • Yes, we have one in yogyakarta province (a sultan). he is the governor too. but the purposes is only cultural an symbolic only, only has limited power.

Indonesia uses the presidential system, no prime minister, just president as the head of state and governance, as well.Just like philippines

  • We have many Sultans and Kings but united by Indonesia as formal government!!

  • gosh! my paternal family came from yogyakarta... you know, from the village of kemusuk. my late grandfather once told me that he and bapak suharto share the same village... he told me that back when he was young, bapak suharto's brother was the village headman =)

  • Saya sebagai orang Indonesia harus melindungi segenap bangsa Indonesia!Indonesia merdeka!Berjayalah Indonesia!Jadilah negara berkembang yang kuat dan maju!

Catatan ke-2:Saya bangga menjadi warga negara Indonesia sejak kelahiranku, saya orang yang patriotik.

  • I hope One day Indonesia will be agreat nation again. Let suharto's death be awakening call to all of us , that we're only passing our life in this world, born with nothing and die bring nothing, but great deeds bring peace and harmony to all the humankind. amin

I'm so proud of Indonesia's cultures, particularly its anthem! It's the awesomest anthem you'll get =P What country's anthem has Verses, Prechoruses, and Choruses? lmao

  • Indonesia Raya has 3 verses, but the official anthem is the verse 1. I think one verse is better than 3, the song itself taking too much time.

  • which became known as 'Indonesia'. So there was no split of 'malaya' into Indonesia and 'malaysia'. And I have to assert here that Indonesia and Malaysia are distinct countries. Similar cultures true, but distinct nonetheless. With a VERY different history in regards to obtaining our independence. I have no qualms with you hating malaysia based on the signs they put on their airports (although I find that unreasonable) BUT I have to protest against your prejudice against Tanah Airku, Indonesia.

  • likemikey93, you said:

-That's because Indonesia and Malaysia were once one country called Malaya. Funny how you guys split straight after we gained independence from the Spaniards.

for your information indonesia was never one country with malaysia known as 'malaya'. there was the malayan peninsula that along with singapore and sabah and sarawak became 'malaysia' in the 1960s, after which singapore broke off. Then there was the Dutch East Indies that gained independence from the dutch in 1945.

  • membuat "trenyuh" hati ini ketika mendengar lagu kebangsaan di tanah seberang. terima kasih lagunya

  • Indonesia Raya in MP3 format could be downloaded at my-world-guide(dot)com/national_anthem/118/

  • INDONESIA RAYA is the best National Anthem melody and lyric in the world!!!!

• thanks...had respected...

  • i am a filipino, well i love this hymn and also this video,u can also try the national anthem of the philippines, its good also!!try it

  • Very nice sounding anthem. Thank you.

I'm Filipino, too, but jesus christ, Indonesians and Filipinos are more similar more than anything else.

We share the same language family, we share the same precolonial and pre-Islam culture, we share the ehtnicity(Austronesian) and we share the same archipelago(Malay Archpelago).

    Enough with the infighting already.

  • Hoy djokdjamaica ikaw ang unggoy gago!

  • Malaysia is twice richer (per capita) than the Philippines and we still eat with our hands...

  • Hahaha.

You're funny, cuz Indonesians and Filipino are the same race.

If you say that to a Filipino, you're insulting an Indonesian too.

  • I can't distinguish between Filipino and Monkey because they look same !!!

  • The biggest problem in Indonesia is the low morale of the people. Who on the streets seriously want to work to restore Indonesia to its former glory? People are worried about their own survival. The corrupt fat cats at the top level of government and businesses don't give a damn about the country's future - they're busy fattening themselves!

  • I tell you: Indonesia needs a Messiah -- very soon. Someone who will turn the crank the other way, someone who will mobilise every single men and women of Indonesia to rebuild their great country.

  • I will join this movement..true nationalist...Merdeka!

Hidup Indonesia !

  • indo is similar like the USA: it is a melting pot country where diversity is very vast

  • hey most filipinos look polynesians not chinese or hispanic....most of us have large eyes

  • This helped with my home work

  • That's because most people in Singapore are NOT even Malay. Therefore, it would be more difficult to differentiate between all three Malay ethnic groups.

  • naahh,if u come to singapore,u wont be able to know wat the different between indonesian n malaysian people

  • so true... Im pure Indonesian and I look arab lol, and all the half Chinese look more Chinese than Indonesian

  • can any1 tell me...I'm american and i felt that indonesia and malaysia is the same. They are of the same race and speak same language. Can any1 tell me whether my statement is true or false

-That's because Indonesia and Malaysia were once one country called Malaya. Funny how you guys split straight after we gained independence from the Spaniards.

  • can any1 tell me...I'm american and i felt that indonesia and malaysia is the same. They are of the same race and speak same language. Can any1 tell me whether my statement is true or false

  • Yup we have similar culture and same roots and race. But Indonesia have more diversity in race.We hav Javanesse,Sumatra,Papua...Sumatran is look alike malaysia,Javenesse is lil bit different, papua is like aussie aborigin, and Sulawesi is like filipino!

  • indonsia tanah airku!!

    jadi kangen nehh..,,

dulu tiap hari senin pasti nyanyi lagu ini..

dulu sihh benci and muak banged,, tapi sekarang aku bangga!!!

  • yaY...indonesia iz da bezt...

hupp it'll be peacefull alwysss lar...

    mizz indo so muchhh...

  • Basic Bahasa is taught in our schools. Why don't you guys do the same by speaking Tagalog?

Do you guys even know basic Tagalog words? Such as Bagsak mo, Kumusta, Pa Alam Po, etc.

  • wow sikat na ang mga pilipino sa indonesia ah!?! naintriga sila sa atin bwahahaha...BTW FILIPINOS ARE PURE ASIAN...si kasasaw talaga tanga.

  • INDONESIA MERDEKA

  • why filipino always think indonesian same with their cultur? hay we same but not all so don't make compare about that..

Indonesia is Indonesia and Filipina is filipina...

    always smile...

  • filipinos are not just asian we have some european blood

  • not every single one of you guys have spanish blood. Only like 5%. Vietnam was colonized by France, doesnt mean we all have french blood. Same goes with Cambodia and Laos. Filipinos are ethnically and culturaly asian, but have huge amounts of hispanic influence

  • Indonesia suppress their perifere regions. Papua, Maluku, Sulawesi (Aceh and Timor have won their freedom recently) to name some examples.

Its time for Indonesia to perform major changes or collapse as a state. We have swallowed this suppression long enough!

Viva Munir! Viva Pahlawan Mardeka! Fight corruption and supression by the Javanese, fight to regain control over your lives!

  • When I mean a minority, I mean a minority dialect group. Since we are predominantly Malay (Mixed Southern Chinese and Polynesian), our demographics measure what dialect we speak. And by the way, that guy is trying to prove that Ilokanos are Indonesian.

  • -I am one of them. If you actually spoke more languages than Tagalog or Visayan, then you would know that there aren't many dialects that sound Malay at all. The closest to Malay is Ilokano.

By the way, what I meant was, there are more Filipinos, than Japanese in Malaysia, why does their airport do announcements in Japanese, instead of putting at least some in Tagalog.

  • japanese is the one most popular cultures in the world. from its latest innovations, to animations, to martial arts. did you know that plenty of "filipinos" want to learn japanese?

  • why the heck should they use tagalog (well actually "filipino") as their official language? the only reason we use tagalog as our official language is because it was the language used by the tagalog people of the katipunan. nowadays theres tension due to the fact that the visayans (2nd largest ethnic group) want bisaya as the official language of the "philippines"

  • "79 out of the 90 million people in the "philippines" live in luzon." just because a high percentage of people reside in one area doesn't mean that they all derived from the same place. obviously most malays reside in luzon because they think they could succeed financially. that is why most ethnic muslim groups (maranao, maguindanaoans, etc.) are moving to manila. alhamdullilah for that!!!

  • Hi there! Are you pinoy too? Are you muslim? Good then, coz your posts are more 'Brainy' and 'smarty' then your pinoy fellower 'likemickeymouse93'..

  • the malays are a constant mobile group of people. it was believed that they first settled in the indonesian archipelago, then to the malay archipelago. from there they migrated to other areas in southeast asia ("philippines", brunei, south thailand, vietnam, etc.). they even traveled as far as madagascar.

  • first of all, the ilokano consist of the third largest ethnic group in lu-vis-minda. why defend the fact we are descendants of malaysians and indonesians? because its TRUE. although we can't solely rely on just one source, i did a study on various sources. they all came out with a similar statement - WE ARE THE OUTCOME OF MIGRATIONS FROM PEOPLE OF MALAYSIA AND INDONESIA.

  • Newsflash, 79 out of the 90 million people in the Philippines live in Luzon. Which means most of us Filipinos are from Southern China. Except for the Kalingans and the Ilokanos.

Why would would you defend about being descendants of Malaysians and Indonesians? Indonesia, nor Malaysia refuses to put Tagalog as an official language. Not even at their own airports, do they put announcements in Tagalog. They'd rather put it in Japanese instead. Why is that? When, so much more Filipinos live there.

  • for your information ilokanos consist of the third largest ethnic group in lu-vis-minda. i defend the fact we are descendants of indonesians and malaysians because it is true. although we can't rely on just one source, i did a study on several sources and came up with a similar statement - WE ARE THE OUTCOME OF MIGRATIONS OF PEOPLE FROM MALAYSIA AND INDONESIA. but it is true that all malayan peoples derived from southern china.

  • really? Where are Ilocanos from actually then? I would like to know since im Ilocano.

  • Malay/Bahasa words that overlap in Tagalog:

    Anak

Bakit (Similar to the word, Bukit)

  • actually kami ang mga pilipino are the descendants of malaysians and indonesians. after the aetas, there were successive migration waves from modern day malaysia and indonesia. but for some reason some other sources say that people from south china and taiwan migrated to luzon, people from malaysia migrated to the visayas, and people from indonesia migrated to sulu and mindanao.

  • actually the kris (wavy sword), malong/sarung (muslim skirt like clothing), tutob/songkok (muslim cap) and kulintang instruments are similar to those found in indonesia and malaysia.

  • now to think about it our language is not even tagalog anymore, its "filipino". its been watered down by spanish - "pamilya" (familia)/ "kotse" (coche)/"produksyon" (producion)...etc. bahasa melayu is the primary language spoken in the malay world (malaysia, indonesia, brunei, etc). as a matter of fact, bahasa melayu is starting to be taught in some schools in the "philippines" (i prefer lu-vis-mida. i don't consider myself a slave of king phillip II of spain).

  • Kumusta po kayo? Proud Filipino ako. Ang pamilia ko si nakatira sa Pilipinas. Tagalog si salita si Indonesian ka?

Hello, I'm a proud Filipino. My family lives in the Philippines. Can you speak Tagalog?

There are equal amounts of Indonesian culture in the Philippines as there is Filipino culture in Indonesia.

Rice terraces were invented in the Philippines.

  • I'm sorry but Batac, Ilokano, Kaligan and Kampampangans constitute a minority of the population of the Philippines.

Newer researchers have found that most members of the Malay stock originated in Southern China, then migrated to Taiwan, then migrated to the Philippines, then migrated elsewhere (Indonesia, etc.)

  • "Batac, Ilokano, Kaligan and Kampampangans constitute a minority of the population of the Philippines. "

Are you saying that Batac, Ilokano, Kaligan and Kampampangans ARENT FILIPINOS?

    i don't get your point.

  • No!! The Malays migrated from Southern China to Southeast Asia (Malay World) via Indo-China. They never migrated to Philippines via Taiwan.

I think you should read MORE about history of Southeast Asia, especially about Malay World!!!

  • Is there any full blooded Indonesian here that can speak Tagalog or Filipino? I recommend Indonesians and Malaysians a like to learn our language. Especially, since you Malaysians are our descendants.

  • hi guy, you dont know what you're talking about. please research the history. you culture is the extension of Indonesian culture. you ilocano, batac people comes from north sumatra. the kapampangan are originated from west sumatra. the visayan originated from north sulawesi. so please review your history and you'll know what I am talking about.

  • why should we learn tagalog? tagalog is not (and never been) a lingua france of the malay world. And if we were to learn tagalog what good will come out of it? you are so.. immature. how old are you? 5?

  • We are not Filipinos descendants. It's true that all Malays originated in Southern China but they move south to Indo-China. Then, they spread out to all parts of Malaysia & Indonesia. After that, a group of Malays migrated to Philippines via Borneo & Sulawesi, following by a few others later. This group became the ancestors of present Filipinos. The Taiwanese Aborigines are actually descendants of Filipinos. In other words, Filipinos is descendents of both Indonesian & Malaysian.

  • If you review back history of ancient Malay kingdoms/empires in Malay World, you will realized that all of the ancient Malay kingdoms/empires was found in other parts of Malay World but NEVER in Philippines. For examples, Sri Vijaya (Sumatra), Majapahit (Java), Langkasuka (Thailand), Old Kedah (Malay Peninsular), Champa (Vietnam), Po-ni (Brunei), etc. Historians NEVER found any ancient Malay kingdoms existed in Philippines.

  • the chiefs of many Philippine islands were called Rajas, and the script was derived from Brahmi.the Tagalog (Filipino) word for teacher Guro came from the word guru. Karma, a Hindu concept, has a counterpart in the Cebuano language: Gabâ. The vocabulary in all Philippine languages reflect strong Hindu influences. Tamad means lazy and may have come from the Hindu guna concept of tamas.

  • So, if you are saying that we are Filipinos descendants, then why all of the ancient Malay kingdoms/empires can only be founded in Malaysia and Indonesia but not in Philippines? Don't you think that it's weird since we are more civilized than our 'ancestors' (Filipinos)?

  • There were ancient Kingdoms and Empires present in the Phils. Read on the Kingdoms of Ma-Yi and Lusung as documented by the ancient Chinese, Tawalisi ruled by the Warrior-Queen Urduja, the ancient Kingdom of Butuan, or the 10th Century Kingdom of Namayan with strong ties to Srivijaya & Madjapahit. There even exists artifacts from this era, most importantly the "Laguna Copperplate Inscription" and the "Golden Tara" (please google if in doubt!) These existed in the Philippine area.

  • The reason why ancient kingdoms haven't been traced to the Philippines is due sadly to Spanish cultural brainwashing, and I have no qualms in stating that both Indonesia and Malaysia are much more ahead in being proud of their Malay heritage than the Philippines. This doesn't mean the Philippine region was devoid of ancient civilization.

  • I would concur. But I think whatever civilization there was extinct after Spanish conquest. But I think our close cousing Filipinos have rich history, rightfully theirs.

  • One statue, a Golden Tara, a 4-pound gold statue of an Indo-Malayan goddess, was found in Mindanao in 1917. The statue, denoted the Agusan Image, is now in the Field Museum of Natural History,Chicago, is dated from the period 1200s to early 1300s. Another gold artifact of Garuda, the phoenix who is the mount of Vishnu was found on Palawan.

  • Hey hey. Who the dickens are you? We Indonesians are NOT a part of you pinoy..What's the point of learning talagog, or tagalog, whatever? We malays are proud to speak malay. You go to hell history-blinded! Go learn before you speak out of your ass.

  • kok irian jaya ga diliatin sih di peta nya? di boycott ya? hahaha

  • ada kok...

  • duch nich lagu, bisa membuat aku menangis sejadi2nya, kangen sama indo, kangen dgn smuanya, klo rasa rindu itu datank dada trasa sesak, langsunk kuputar lagu Indonesia Raya, jiwaku sedikit tenank, hick...hick...
