i really HATE to be the pooper i love and use windows 7 and all but I have to say the music wall is strangely reminiscent of the Mac OS X "iTunes Artwork" screensaver that's been there for quite a while... O.O
win7 has borrowed lots from OS X like a taskbar that resembles more and more the Dock, which i think is gud cuz MS is finally paying more attention to a pretty UI, and media center is one place where it really shines (because it destroys Front Row)
There seems to be a very similar 'wall' that accompanies the Zune media player as well. However, when the artist is generally well known, it reverts the "wall" (which is static on the Zune player, there is no cover 'drift') to a series of images of the artist, complete with overlays of text, play information, and mini-biographies.
Both are nice, but it'd be cool to see this 'drift' with artists that aren't well known so there's always some dynamic eye-candy when playing music.

I don't like it, it slows down my Media Center, I liked those animated waves better in Vista Media Center.

Zune Software has had the "album wall" for a long time, idk if longer than itunes, but it deffinatly was around before WMC in W7.
Alot of people dont know, but the Zune Software is really cool actually, BEST UI, EASY to use, it kicks iTunes' ass
