  • Made in China I presume, nice job but for me if Lionel aren't made in the USA they are not authentic,I'm a Brit and wouldn't dream of buying a Chinese made Rolls Royce,it would feel very odd, (if I could afford one........) nothing against The Chinese people though..

I only buy American made Lionel and Marx prewar tin/diecast they did a good job, quality is excellent and still running very well.

    Dont like plastic trains either...

  • thats nice i love trains but i wanted to ask you why in the world would MTH want to put lionel name on there packing or there trains that like lionel makeing a great set and putting the MTH name on it i dont get it

  • @grizzleybearz282004 ecause MTH is making replicas of the original Lionel trains from the 1920's and 1930's. Having the Lionel name on them makes them look more like the originals. These are reproductions, not new MTH models. Lionel does the same thing when they make American Flyer trains. They're made by Lionel, but they say "American Flyer" on them.

  • @esiegel76 ok i hear what your saying about the repros and i knew about american flyer lionel got ownership of american flyer along time ago

  • @esiegel76 and the good thing about locomotives is that when you build them, weight isn't an issue because of the traction

  • thats awesome....i have the train thats pictured on your box : )

  • how many motors are in there? it probally strains to pull itself which i think is 30 pounds alone.

  • @Jimmyyaesu There are 2 motors. No, it doesn't strain at all. Runs smooth as silk.

  • Had an original tinplate pre war train set my father gave me. Similar engine, but shorter with passenger cars. My mother disliked my intrest in trains and thought that they were a waste. She had given the set along with others to a local goodwill when I was younger. Wish I still had it since my father past.

  • i love that engine

  • I saw that train at my hobby store... holly crap

  • Is there going to be prizes?

  • Um, sure. You just won a speed boat.

  • Great presentation.

  • im 14 and what job do you have and you most be a millionaire to by all of the diesels you want. i can only get one railking diesel and thats it. if i got a premier that would be all i get.

  • I'm not a millionaire. I just work for a living. You're 14, so that's why you can't afford a lot yet. When I was 14 I only had 1 engine. Just make sure you do well in school and get a good job and you'll be able to afford more. Also, having a wife that puts up with the hobby helps as well.

  • haha. im just mad that not as many 14 year olds like trains as they used to. mthtrainfanatic is 14 and loves trains which is awsome. look at my channel for my website.

  • This Looks Great , I just got mine on Last Wednesday , and have not opened it myself . But I am looking forward to it , I heard TT repros might be doing heavywieghts Buddy L size , they might be just right ! Even State cars look dwarfed behind this .

  • Yeah, they really need to crank out some 200 series passenger cars to go with this thing...

  • How hard of a time did you have getting the lower piece of faom off , I tried it quick at the hobby shop and it was really jammed on . I hope it comes off with out damaging the foam . Did you wiegh the engine after removal ? and it was t-repros not tt , as far as the original wheel set of 3.25 ? I agree ...run it !

  • Yep. It Could Deffinetly run It Over. My 2 GP's Would Get Crushed. Just Another Georgia Model Railroader. :D

  • I Wonder What That Would Like Next To My HO Scale Engines. O_O

  • That engine could run over an HO engine and not even know it. It's obscenely huge.

  • Enjoyed the video, Eric...but you didn't let us see underneath! All us standard guys look at the bottom to see the pickup and motor arrangement etc. Havbe fun with it.

  • Yeah, I realized after the fact that there were a couple things I didn't show. I'm probably going to make a "part 2" video this weekend to show the stuff I didn't show here.

  • was that a real locamotive

  • It's based on the Milwaukee Road's bi-polar electrics. So, yes, it's based on a real engine.

  • Incredible engine Eric.. That things big enough to pull a house !!!

  • gorgeous- now u need a tinplate layout!!

  • I wish, but there's no room. Besides, I'm busy enough with 1 layout.

  • Holy **** That Thing Is Huge! Awsome Enigine!

  • It's gigantic, but it runs like a beauty. Smooth as silk.

  • This thing is a...brute. Great video

  • Great looking engine. That is too cool!

  • whoa thats like going HO to N scale

  • more like z to ho

  • that thing is huge
