  • @thebearclawjones thats my favorite part of the song...i learned it the first time i heard it!

  • keep it simple.do unto others as u would have them do unto you.there are no superior races or religions.there is only one God and one race human

  • i love old school music before satanist started singing hate music calling humans bad names

  • . it is easier now to be black cause brave folks fought for their God given rights to be treated human. know ur history or u may be treated like an animal.

  • loved it as a kid, love it now!!! Yes, I can dig it!!!

  • Groovy!

  • Those were the DAY,Sss !!

  • Hey! I'm ready to get up and sing and dance after this one!

  • i can dig this

  • Actually 1968, two years before the start of the 70s.

  • This was 1969, not the 70s.

  • I've always liked this version of Grazin' In The Grass the best. Raven-Symone's version isn't a bad one either.

  • Yeah!!, It's Summer of 1969!

  • This song is the theme music for the weekend gardening call-in talk show on KTRH radio in Houston.

  • Can you dig it? 1 person couldn't dig it! Love the horns in this song. Excellent classic.

  • Absolutely fabulous song!!!!!!!

  • reminds me of the 5th demension, love this song

  • @dancingmckay You'd almost think they were the same group

  • A Timeless Jam. One of my favorites for decades.

  • Wahhh ! I wanna go back to 1970!!! :... ( This world has gotten so messed up it is easier to unscramble an egg

  • @skaha77 I dont which is greater, the truth of your statement or the sadness of it. *sigh* On a lighter note, we still have the music, and as they said back in the day, "that's a beautiful thang". Wut the hell, smile awhile, folks! Peace.

  • @titenrite Sad and true.. Equal weight. Now we have U Tube and software to copy etc. Can you dig it? I made a few statements on this thread, so don't know what one you are referring to. I've seen some changes, though.. but what my Grandpa saw trumps all. When he was a teenager, the automibile was still being designed. He fought in WW1 and then in 1969 watched man walk on the moon, and all on this 'new' thang called a television set. Now all outdated. He stuck arond until 1975 (91y.o.)

  • @skaha77 I was referencing the comment you made about wanting to go back to 1970 and how the world is so messed up now it would be easier to unscramble an egg. True how much of life was simpler then, and what a horrible mess it is now. As far as your grandfather goes, I'd have to say he was a blessed man to have lived as long as he did in the times that he did. Must've been mind-boggling at times, but truly one heckuva ride! Peace and love, my friend.

  • @titenrite A common thread in old school commenting is a belief that life was simpler and better back then. Maybe for white people it was. For black people, what we think of as 'America', with the freedom and justice for all that it implies, only began bearing fruit a few decades ago. If you're not mired in some ghetto sinkhole, today is a vastly better time to be black.

  • @hork111 Point well taken, hork111. When you put it in that context (and I admit that that is indeed a point of view that must be considered whenever we wax nostalgic about days gone by), I have no choice but to agree. However, I feel my thoughts are formed from a childs perspective. True, life in those days was not very good for black people, but neither was it always bad. Depending on your family and location, children didn't always feel the racism to the extent the adults did.

  • @titenrite Right. We kids were sheltered from the worst of it. I suspect our parents hid from us many of the stings they felt. My 92 year old Louisiana grandmother died a few years ago. In all our long time together, I can't recall one terrible thing she said about racism, though I suspect she had lots to tell. Maybe she was shielding us, maybe she thought it wasn't important, or she just wanted to forget. Cheers.

  • @hork111 I suspect that you're spot on once again. I can say the exact same about life back then and my parents. Funny how I dont recall ever hearing them rant and rave about racism nearly as much as I hear it now, and I know things were a lot worse for them! Im sure all the things you mentioned had a part to play in our parents (and grandparents)! decision to not belabor such things around us. I think they looked upon it as business for adults, allowing us the freedom to be children.

  • great audio quality

  • Great song, brings back great memories =) living in Brooklyn, NY….. I was about 5 yrs. old, remembering my father washing his convertible car on a hot day, after he would finish washing his car, he would take me out for a ride to get his car dried by the hot summer wind. I would sit in the back seat, feeling the sun, listening to this song….. May Pop (Edward Lopez) R.I.P….

miss him, but hold strong to my memories with him =)

  • @audreyrecon you must be mad old now

  • i like this...

  • wow~..i grew up on this...and it still makes me wanna dance...that "crazy" 70's funk...

  • one person is allergic to grass

  • I USED 2 HAVE IT ON TAPE BACK IN 93.

IT'S A COOL SONG AND I WOULD LISTEN 2 IT WHILE ON THE FWY LATE AT NIGHT

  • IT'S A GAS!

  • Which version of GITG did you like the instrumental version of FOD version?

  • I remeber dancing to this at a Northern Sould get together when I was about 16 or so

  • groovy, man! Like, ultra cool.

  • Party at the park...bring your own bottle !...see ya there.... !!!!

  • Back in the day my group did cover songs to many Friends songs and we did them well...it's called Practice! As for grazing..another term for smoking the grass. Why else would you be watching birds dodging in and out of the trees? C'mon people, stop trying to analyze everything and taking phrases literally.PEACE!!! StonieDogStl.

  • I've always liked this song, but what is it about... bovine flatulence? (As we all know, cows graze in the grass and often pass a lot of gas while they chew their cuds.)

  • Can you dig it?...It's so real...

  • my uncle Rufus loved grazing in the grass back in the 70s..course he was taking a lot of drugs back then..he may have thought the grass was spinach...

  • Yes, needless to say, Ron Burgundy was the balls.

  • I like this.....they were in good 4-part harmony!

  • great song...brings back some great memories, thanks

  • this song puts me in a good mood! no worries!

  • I am asking why you are talking about things that have nothing to do with music?

    Are you loony or something?

  • This song is too tough! As classy as they come. You could manage some back to back double or even triple turns with a partner on the dance floor.

  • the sun beaming down between the leaves-and the birds darting end and out of trees

  • There is NO GRAZING IN THE GRASS in Korea......

a because there is no grass

b it is considered beneath any man to graze in the grass

c all activities take place in the city

d Grazing the grass is the Korean term for ORAL sex between women and that is a crime there

  • @teehonky why did you write that?

    It has nothing to do with this music. . . . . . .

  • @o56kid why did you write that...? Thats not one of the choices

  • "Anchorman" with Will Ferrell!!! CANNONBALL!!!!

  • Now this is what you party to!! All these sorry young "so called" pop music kids out nowadays are just wannabees, no idea as to what real music is. This is how we used to party back in the 60's and 70's. Not a curse word mentioned, no guns or killing. Just good, clean fun and a whole lot of moving. It's sad that today's genre of music has gone straight to hell!!!!

  • @Diva2678 Blame the producers. They won't let the real music on the airwaves. Just violent rap and hateful noise instead

  • this song makes me feel happy and young

  • brings back so many good memories!

  • Remember this well! Class stuff. ktf

  • this song is a classic, it is great to play on a sunny day.

  • or a rainy day....

  • This is a cool song, but I do not understand how these artists could recite, "I can dig it, He can dig it, She can dig it, we can dig it, they can dig it, you can dig it" with such speed.

  • @Jibjub80 a real tongue-twister if ever there was one. LOL

  • @Jibjub80 each pair said a pharse at a time( i think). first two would say I can dig it, then the next two would say He can dig it, then back to the first two She can dig it, and so on.??????? Beats me, but it makes since.

  • @Jibjub80 I bet that many months of training went in to them learning to do that:)

  • @Jibjub80 No kidding! I was a decent singer at one time, and I've tried over the years to sing along w/that part of this song... cannot do it! This is still one of the greatest songs EVER, IMO.

  • @Jibjub80 Practice I guess..

  • @Jibjub80 They probably sang each part separately and then it was all added together in the studio..

  • @Jibjub80 It's called TALENT. Enjoy it and thank goodness they put it on vinyl so all of us can enjoy it. It took me a few tries to get it, BUT I GOT IT

  • @Jibjub80

    it's easy, they're robots.

  • @Jibjub80 Back in the day when this Jam first came out.....our goal was to be able to keep up with the "I can dig it, you can dig it, he can dig it, she can dig it, we can dig it, they can dig it....Ahhhhh life was so innocent and we had NO responsibility except to go to school and not get pregant......Those were the Good Ol Days!

  • @Jibjub80 Practice, and more practice. Do remember the commercial supercalafristic expadalioscious? (McDonalds) (Who else?)

  • I could dig it

    He could dig it

    She could dig it

    We could dig it

    They could dig it

    You could dig it

Oh let's dig it!!! The best!!

  • yeahhh, me and gussie would go down to coopers donuts on beaudry and temple, order a coffee and maybe a donut and always play this on the jukebox. a couple of 10 year old high rollers! yeahh. those were the days

  • True Classic
