I'm privileged to say that I've actually had a ride in this car. The acceleration is PHENOMENAL! You might think that i am over reacting, but there is no words on this earth that i could describe the acceleration of that car. And the noise is just beautiful. It growls like a dog and accelerates like a hawk in motion. Beautiful car.

god fckin damn mercedes has seriously outdone themselves this time. i cannot stop playing this video. the new sls amg is fckin flawless, plucked to perfection. i am a ferrari enthusiast for life but mercedes has always usually been 2nd and this confirms it. the sound of this v8 is something i've never heard of before. it's sounds like a gentle, roaring thunderstorm in a car, but not American-sounding (thank god). I will always favor Ferrari as my favorite car but as for the Germans...BENZ!!

@Maxpound dude, by far. the only american car i have EVER liked has been the 96 or 97 Dodge Viper GTS coupe, nothing more. The sound of this V8 is just a delight to hear.

@roc575 Don't get me wrong I'm not one of those "America makes shitty cars" people but the way the Germans intonate their engines to only make pure bass regardless of the displacement is amazing. Our(American) engines have too much vocal range sometimes.

dude...I dont know what youre hearing but this isnt a supercharged engine...all of AMGs 6.3 V8s are naturally aspirated no turbo no supercharger...sorry

this car is amazing and the only thing how you can improve it is to wait for AMG to mount Supercharger (V8 Kompressor) on and put the exhaust in side like in SLR Stirling Moss!

Oh yes, if they cannot put supercharger on I would be pleased with Biturbo setup also ;)

Mercedes always uses superchargers...SHE only put a Turbo in the B200 TURBO model..

the SLR was pretty sweet car but it had zero driver involvement, it was like driving a mattress. And the proportions were a bit on the weird side. SLS looks sharper and drives 500x better.

Magazines and news agencies have been test-driving pre-production SLS AMGs for months and months, and they have nothing but praise for it. Now I am no Mercedes fanboy, and I love the new 458 as much as the next guy, but this looks to be taking Merc in a new direction.

Ha....I don't know about that one. I think those magazine guys have been doing the same thing when SLR was released, but it in the end was buried by the critics saying SLR didn't feel a thing like driving.

I just want to see the third person reviews on this one, and a comparison between SLS and Dodge Viper. Because honestly, I just don't know what Mercedes was thinking with this one...like design. Even the new SL looks like a joke, the older version looked so much better.

yeah right! SLR looks like an surprised SL that got stretched by a taffy puller and had its trunk extracted. SLS has its own taut, athletic look and is perfectly proportioned.

The front's quite nice. The back isn't. Sounds good though. You just have to hope that no one parks too close, otherwise you're stuck in it! Scissors would've been a better choice for this day and age.

this is soooo much better then a corvette this is a gullwing and made by amg yes i admit its a bit underpowerd but then its alot lighter it will kick the corvettes ass and it looks soo much better the corvette looks stupid and cheap where this is the full super car this is hand crafted where the corvette rear bumper is from plastic and lots of it
