Numbers wise, the Camaro v6 (MT) pulls 0-60 in 5.9 and the quarter in 14.5 @99mph (C&D has no numbers for an auto), while the Max pulls 0-60 in 5.8 and the quarter in 14.5@ 98. Max is certainly not ahead in the quarter mile.

The Maxima in fact LOST, and would've done much worse from a roll on 60-80mph.

lol...it's geared perfectly. the camaro gets off the line well and more importantly has plenty of passing power, which is thanks to the evenly spaced gears. GM would be stupid to emulate toyota and give its automatics closely spaced gears for an illusion of speed off the line, and then have nothing left passed 60 mph. Case in point, review the vid, observe the results, now report back to me.

This video is a poor depiction of the Camaro's performance...the first race was a disgrace (driver should've left it in D and not messed around with paddles he doesn't know how to use). Second race Maxima jumped early off the line.
Numbers wise, the Camaro v6 (MT) pulls 0-60 in 5.9 and the quarter in 14.5 @99mph (C&D has no numbers for an auto), while the Max pulls 0-60 in 5.8 and the quarter in 14.5@ 98. Max is certainly not ahead in the quarter mile.

the Maxima, at best gets a 14.5 in the quarter mile. The Camaro v6 has gotten as low as a 14.2 @ 99. Tell me why you think the Maxima should be ahead? If a dumb yard ape wasn't driving the Camaro and got off the line properly the Maxima wouldn't have even been ahead. Get me a MT equipped Camaro v6 and I'll slaughter the Maxima....seriously fuck off.

Considering that the cars were side by side up to about 40mph, they have the same launch performance, but the Camaro drops out of the top end of the powerband on the 1-2 upshift where as the Maxima, thanks to the CVT, is still making peak power. So yes, the Maxima starts to pull ahead, but is still only a full car length ahead @ 80mph, and the Camaro starts pulling at the top of third gear.
The Maxima in fact LOST, and would've done much worse from a roll on 60-80mph.

Again, you make the same claim without providing any numbers. You are allowed to make such claims, but it is important that you back them up with hard evidence. Your opinion, as much as you think it should, does not suffice as real world evidence.
Now, just looking back at the footage: The Camaro is just about at 115-120 MPH when it is AHEAD of the Maxima by about 1 car length. The Maxima was only a car length ahead at about 80 MPH, at which point the Max ran out of breath

@th3ha1og0d Shifting out of 1st at 40 and out of 2nd past 70 is some pretty steep gearing for a 6spd, and slows things down. Another certain 6spd V6 car shifts out of 1st at 30 and out of 2nd at 50 and is MUCH MUCH quicker to rev and sportier feeling.

lol...it's geared perfectly. the camaro gets off the line well and more importantly has plenty of passing power, which is thanks to the evenly spaced gears. GM would be stupid to emulate toyota and give its automatics closely spaced gears for an illusion of speed off the line, and then have nothing left passed 60 mph. Case in point, review the vid, observe the results, now report back to me.
