I like Euronymous because he was IMO a great music writer and a good guitarist (Blasphemer is better as a guitarist though.)

Dead, his lyrical themes and personality were really interesting.

Maniac is a great singer though, I doubt Black Metal would be the same without any of the Deathcrush lineup.

Blasphemer is not better in my opinion.. I meen, Euronymous did some sick solo's on the live gig from leipzig (1990 i believe) I dont really think blasphemer has come up with any extraordinary riffs or solos. He just played what euronymous did in the first place (which euro also composed)

He wrote the last four albums music on his own, though I don't think he ever outdid De Mysteriis.

But Ordo Ad Chao, Wolf's Lair and Grand Declaration of war had some amazing guitar work in.

I think the problem in comparing them is they're writing different types of Black Metal, Eurronymous' stuff was a lot more brutal and Blasphemer's more technical.

(I know I said four but I just don't like Chimera aside from one song.

imo, Maniac was the best singer of Mayhem and albums from "Wolf's Lair Abyss EP" to "Chimera" was pure greatness! So many people somehow mock Mayhem, because there's no Dead or Euronymous, but they are actually dead, if you didn't remember that.. Can't get'em back! And newer Mayhem is more kind of progressive and more technical stuff than the older one, that's why I like it more! :) Dead was good singer, but not very special.. Only his personality was interesting.. :/

Maniac has interesting personality and voice.. Also his lyrics in Mayhem songs are great! But imagine, if Hellhammer wouldn't have pulled Mayhem together again in 1995, you wouldn't see these guys anymore on gig! And about Euronymous, he was just a selfish bastard, but guite good composer... Attila's voice is interesting too, but Maniac's voice is so aggressive that he's the best! :) Old Mayhem is very good music, but newer even better! thanks :)
