@spiritomb Yes, that's correct, but Namco Museum 64 ALSO used the 'Namco Museum' arcade versions, but I was wrong about the name in the arcade, it's actually called "Namco Classics Collection" there. Vol 1 had Galaga, Xevious, and Mappy, Vol 2 had Pac Man, Rally-X, and Dig Dig. All 6 games had the arcade original version, and a new 'arrange' version. This game hit the arcade in 1995, the Nintendo 64 version was released in 1999 (alongside the identical Dreamcast ver)
@DeltaPhi79 Those versions were based on the arcade 'Namco Museum' versions, that also had the 'Arrange' versions, but the actual arcade versions were properly emulated roms from what I remember.
@Nikashi No, the games on that Namco Museum are all from Namco Museum 64 except for Pac-Attack, Pole Position II, Pac-Mania, and of course the Arrangements.
It's unfortunate that the Dreamcast and PSX versions of Namco Museum didn't actually have the arcade Pac Man, only this similar, but by no means exact, which always bothered me :/
Whoo, this was a real nightmare, wasn't it? This conversion was so freakin' bad that the homebrew community wrote their OWN Pac-Man emulator for the Dreamcast just to show Namco how it SHOULD have been done!
Yeah there's an option on the PS1 where you can put your TV on it's side to play in verticle mode, right? On the GameCube (and PS2 and Xbox), I think you can set it to it's original size but can't set it to "verticle mode" and have to put up with portions of the game being off-screen (such as your live count).
reached kill screen yet on dreamcast pacman?

I found out that this is the arcade version, only on the horizontal position. Instead of the original vertical mode. They differ.
spiritomb 3 years ago
the rest the games are excellent though

I have that for Xbox, I did not know it was for Dreamcast.

Namco didn't develop the Dreamcast version. Mass Media did. Blame them.
MegaMan52 4 years ago 2
Yea but if im not mistaken, Namco did develop the version for the PS1, which had the exact same version of Pac-Man. What was their excuse?
19Bigfoot85 3 years ago
like I said, this is the horizontal version. and I have volume 1,2,and 3 for PS1.

Yes you're right MegaMan. I'm kinda an arcade game expert. If you have any questions, just ask.
