I don't get it... Why are they talking of Marseille? It's well-known that savate was created in Paris. Savate is the descendant of French fencing (it was called "l'escrime des pieds", the fencing of the feet), using its vocabulary and spirit. Just take a look at how they use the canne de combat, you can easily see that it was of great influence.Canne de combat (which is actually just a simple cane)was introduced because rapiers became forbidden. Did they really study this martial art's history?

yeah, you're right... as a french fighter myself i feel like they are gay looking.

but savate kicks my look strange but are very effective.

i use to train with savate guys (when i was taekwondo and kick boxing fighting around europe ) and i learnt very powerfull strikes from the savate who helped me in real street fight.

I hope one day they 'll change that humiliating outfit .
