Just another day, just another day around the way. ( in my neighborhood) that's not the words ,but i just felt like listening to this song today :)) lyrics pure lyrics. Hip Hop.
This song is like a street lullaby for kids and anyone living in the hood......ESPECIALLY toward the end when she keeps sayin "my hood's ok, its gonna be ok". And she's right, don't let your circumstances/haters keep you down, find something you love doing and you're talented at and use that to take you out the ghetto and fly you as high as you wanna be in life. The Queen is SUCH an inspiration. Wish she'd come back to hiphop, the game NEEDS her.......BAD!!!!! Anywayz, ALL HAIL THE QUEEN : D!!!!
I was talking to my mom the other day about how multi-talented the Queen is. She sings, she raps, she acts,(drama AND comedy) and she got her cosmetic product money comin' in!!!! Its really rare finding someone as versatile as her!! YOU GO GIRL AND KEEP IT UP!!!! She's my hero!!! ALL HAIL THE QUEEN!!!!!
what an amazing career she's had. so inspiring. never compromised herself, always kept striving. and all with this positive energy around her that is just infectuous. i'd love to meet her one day and just pick her brain.
Great Song!!! I just bought this cd on amazon dot com for forty one cents with two dollars and ninty eight cents shipping and handling. I'm stocking up on my old school music I grew up with. All bought on amazon dot com. Heavy D,Al B Sure,Ralph Tresvant, johnny gill, etc.....
How produced this track? its one of the dopest beats ever made in music period! its so smooth yet hardcore. I used to listen to this album over and over again. it takes me back to a crazy time.
yes, I have but I also have "Black Reign", The Vinyl single and The CD Single and there is no credit of any sample. And The only thing that sounds familiar is the drum beat. Take Aaliyah's "Got to give it up". The Drum beat in that sounds like Bille Jean but when you think of it, Billie Jean just has 2 drum beats thought the song and anyone can play that. The same theory can apply to J.A.D.
Back then when the album was released it was not mandatory for artist to give credit to the artist in which they were sampling. Janet's Rhythm Nation has a lot of sampling in it, but fails to mention her sources, because it wasn't mandatory. However today it is...so that explains why it doesn't mention Making Love In The Rain as the blueprint for this song.
maybe you are right. But on the album, it would make no sense to credit the Crusaders sample in "u.n.i.t.y." and not credit Alpert if she did use a sample. The more I listen to the song, it does sound like a sample. so Maybe you are right.
Yeah, the sample is kinda deafening cuz they have manipulated the sound to some degree. I'm a HUGE Janet fan so I can tell when "her" music is being sampled lol
Well, Maybe Janet and Alpert didn't want to be mentioned. Like Timbaland's "Way I Are". I heard that Salt-n-Pepa allowed the sample but Salt didn't want to be credited
woo dis song is a classic in my family's household! brings back memories! :-D did she actually do a video for this song then cuz being a londoner we didn't really have access to her music on tv :-(

thats exactly what i wanted to comment but bone thug's version was a soundtrack in queen latifah's movie set it off
