I doubt the train actually hit him. There is a huge pocket of air if front of a train and that is what actually hit him. The dangerous part here though is that very same pocket has a lot of turbulence in it, it can suck you in against the train body and that's the same as landing on a tin roof at 90 miles per hour. (or whatever speed the train was going at)

Either way, just look at pieces of paper etc on the ground next to the tracks at a platform next time a train passes by. It creates vortextes that initially pushes them out of the way and then sucks them into the side of the train.

I know we aren't as light as paper but the forces in play exceed just pushing paper around.
