Hey Guys, Im going to buy this monster. .I don't know why this keyboard is cheaper in Asian region as compare to other parts of world. (Is there manufacturing difference). In asia it costing me about $ 1200 - 1300 (with bag&adapter only) where as in other part of the world it costing me about $ 1700 - 1800. Any reason.

@cvl85 Yes, it's plugged in! Because the aesthetic appearance are hidden behind the lectern, if you look better,you can see 3 black cables, one is for power, and second 2 is for left/right speaker.

For a returning keyboard player (intermediate level at best) who likes to play songs, but wouldn't class himself as a quality songwriter, would the S710 or S910 be better? I also can get a Tyros 2 2nd hand for slightly less than the S910 if that's still worth considering now it's discontinued.

Michel Voncken is great! He's so funny and always does a good presentation. However, I think I will wait for the S910 successor - presumably the S920 or S950. The S910 already has a fantastic sound engine but the smaller S710 isn't as good as my Roland GW8. Roland has more realistic pianos, EPs and synth sounds but I think the S710 successor will be amazing. What I would like to see in a new S920/950 is aftertouch keybed and some Tyros 4 amazing sounds and styles.

Personally, I think that the PSR s710 is very similar to the s910. smaller, but just as good. Does the s710 have a microphone port for a USB mic? feedback is appreciated.

So I have a question for you guys...

I'm thinking of buying either the PSR-S710 or the S910 but seriously I don't know which one to choose...

the S710 is pretty nice and has a lot of voices and realistic ones two (which is my main interest) usb connectivity but no mp3 playback as for the S910 it has a few more voices a TFT screen (which for doesn't matter, as long as I can read it) mp3 playback more memory and cost almost 750€ more which really blows the deal...

So what do you guys think???

@tTatmosT erm.. man as my opinion concerned.. 910 is best investment bcoz it doesnt have only good TFT displayand all those you mensioned...it also have 38 superarticulation voices which are novelty on yamaha's market.. they function like real nuances and expression of instruments like the guitars have fret bending strumming,sliding and body tap noises! and vocal harmony and mic connection allows you to record or perform live! so i think 910 is better

Yamaha manufactures one of the best keyboards.. no doubt .. but the mid ranged keyboards have many limitations... as in ,their keys are v. soft... no varities and variations...as in korg m50 have many which is of this range only....but motif series of yamaha is the best

I also got an S710, and I love it.  However, I had the same problem with the software disk, not on a MAC, but on a PC running Win7. Loads of fun.

actually play, sing & record it onto itself using a USB stick ! & stick that USB to a

computer or laptop ... upload & you can have ur very own CD ! instant ! WOW !!!!

I just picked up the S710 2 weeks ago. I also own a mac. For some reason the software installation disc cant be installed. Yamaha website / service is SHIT! You cant get in contact with them. Anyway, if anybody out there has had the same problem , if you know how to install the software on a mac pleeeaaase shoot me a message :)
