@MTBbikes cfl field is wider and longer than an nfl field. 110 yards long, 65 yeards wide instead of 100 and 53. the endzone is 20 yards long instead of 10 too
Been taking an interest in the NFL (I'm a rugby league tragic from Australia). That's how I discovered the CFL. It definitely has a different feel to it. The fans I might add, seem more relaxed and not having to continually assert their dominance over their southern 'cousins'. Basically, not as desperate to be the best and it's a quality that I personally appreciate in a person. 2 very impressive sports, though. I understand the attraction.

The nfl has better players yes but I find the cfl more entertaining. It is a faster paced game and with the bigger field and 1 less down you get alot more explosive plays. I am not saying the nfl is bad just saying i prefer the cfl. Both leagues are great so why argue over which is better.
@Fecto44 NFL is clearly better for talent. no question. but the game is so different. sometimes the CFL gets big time players from NFL and they cant compete at the high level as they did in the NFL and vise versa... i like watching CFL during summer. but when NFL kicks off i rarely watch a CFL game unless its the riders not on a sunday. If the riders play and i dont have any other NFL team i would like to watch. then i will watch the riders... i find NFL more exciting and entertaining.

@souljaslim1987 definitely not all college teams, but some for sure. i'd say a bcs bowl is a bigger award than the grey cup for sure. just purely from an athletic standpoint, american college players outperform cfl records every year in the combine in almost every event. sorry canadians, but you guys should stick to hockey.

Five qbs ok Michael vick, mcnabb, Vince young, Gerard, and Joe flacco who also caught a pass for 40 yards. And you want to see NFL players play with a bigger ball they all ready did that in college. It will be cheating if you give and explosive NFL player that much room on your big fields. And having a bigger field makes it a lot easier to move the ball I see why the cfl only have three downs it's soo much easier, I guess because Canada don't have that many good players
k cfl is our league not yours, when you play it, you can judge it. Just because we have a bigger field and a bigger balls, so what, we only have 3 downs, HARDER for offense.
I would be very interested in seeing the Detriot Lions take on the Montreal Allouettes in CFL rules. I think it would be much closer than people expect.
Actually only 19 of 42 are American. Import Ratio Rule. Rules are similar, but many many differences. Yard off the ball, No-yards/ no fair catch, 3 downs, unlimited backfield motion, much much longer/wider field.
lol yeah, funny how 1 more down can really change up the game. even though there are other aspect that distinguished the 2, 3 vs 4 downs is the MAIN diff.

some of the punt/kick returns were kinda lame. they shouldnt have been in the top 10 plays of 2008. it was mostly just a sprint to the goal line... that montreal return didnt even have a single finesse move just good blocking.

NFL has actually changed towards a passing game in recent years. That's why the Carolina Panthers and New York Giants were so successful in the regular season last year, a great running game is so rare.

@CFLNHLFIFAFAN I have to say, i agree-ish. I believe the NFL players are babied, because they get four downs, but have to go the same distance. That in my mind, makes them inferior. Because CFL teams will score and will play as well or better then NFL teams, but with only two downs before needing to punt or kick a field goal, NFl players get three. That to me makes the difference.
They get 4 downs and have to go 10 less yards, they do have smaller endzone so it is harder or lesser chance for them to get field goals, they have to keep both feet in for catch, and they do have one less player on field for both teams, I still think rules for CFL will are better, and the CFL is way underrated and is just as good as NFL just not as popular, big or rich CFL has awesome skill as well, the NFL has maybe better players but CFL is great, and will always be a great league

ya his skills diminished that is why he is averaging more yards per carry than ever right now in the nfl . overall the nfl is a deeper league but the biggest difference between the 2 leagues is money and style of game not talent. the talent difference is not as much as most believe. Americans are better than Canadians at marketing and hyping things, players who have played in both leagues no better , ask them, and their are many more that have played in both leagues than people realize

and CFL has speed and agility? The faster person in their league from 03-07 ran a 4.4 and a WR...NFL has hundreds of 4.4 plus plenty of players who run 4.2(darius heyward bey, johnny knox)

Five qbs ok Michael vick, mcnabb, Vince young, Gerard, and Joe flacco who also caught a pass for 40 yards. And you want to see NFL players play with a bigger ball they all ready did that in college. It will be cheating if you give and explosive NFL player that much room on your big fields. And having a bigger field makes it a lot easier to move the ball I see why the cfl only have three downs it's soo much easier, I guess because Canada don't have that many good players

Actually only 19 of 42 are American. Import Ratio Rule. Rules are similar, but many many differences. Yard off the ball, No-yards/ no fair catch, 3 downs, unlimited backfield motion, much much longer/wider field.

some of the punt/kick returns were kinda lame. they shouldnt have been in the top 10 plays of 2008. it was mostly just a sprint to the goal line... that montreal return didnt even have a single finesse move just good blocking.

NFL has actually changed towards a passing game in recent years. That's why the Carolina Panthers and New York Giants were so successful in the regular season last year, a great running game is so rare.

i love the cfl, because its such an "air it out" style of football, mainly because theirs only 3 downs so the team always has to look as far downfield as possible

@CFLNHLFIFAFAN I have to say, i agree-ish. I believe the NFL players are babied, because they get four downs, but have to go the same distance. That in my mind, makes them inferior. Because CFL teams will score and will play as well or better then NFL teams, but with only two downs before needing to punt or kick a field goal, NFl players get three. That to me makes the difference.
