so when i try to run the cyanogen on mine it reboots and shows the triangle ! with a phone next to it.. the same sign you get when you try to do a hardboot. and none of the options do anything.

now they actually made an app for the marketplace called helix launcher 2 and it is exactly this rom except you do not need to be rooted. just in case anyone is already 2.1 n still wants this.

On second thought, I won't be switching to this ROM. This ROM is different from all the rest in that it's built from code and it is going to take Koush a lot longer to work out the bugs that it has and it does have its fair share of bugs. That being said, Pete's ESE53 v0.8 is ROCK SOLID and I can't see myself moving from it to a buggy Cyanogen (even though I want the 3D launcher BAD). Oh, BTW FUCK the 2.1 OTA update. :-)

I installed the file it says copying files twice and then it freezes and says deleting files a lot and then it says writing boot and then install complete but when i reboot it it stays on the motorola logo. Did brick my phone?

Ugh.... When I click on the install from SD card option for ROM Manager and click on Cyanogen, it does NOTHiNG! Well... it asks me if I want to backup and all that, but after that it does nothing, just sits there...

Dont unzip the file. You need to place the ZIP file directly onto your SDcard.

@motodroidlife yea that was my problem at first, but even while putting the file in the SD card without unzipping it, nothing happened. I had to unroot my phone and start from scratch, but its all working fine now! Thanks for the tutorials :)

You can't download the file in ROM Manager. You have to download the file directly from the source.
