So so wrong! Remember, China was conquered by the Mongols in the 13th century and again by the Manchus in the 16th. Han Chinese have hardly ruled their own country most of the last millenium. Tibetans in this same time, were the advisors to many of these emperors - Kublai Khan and Qianlong. So maybe we have the situation reversed: Maybe China is part of Tibet. Mongolia, Manchuria. Tibetans conquered the capitol Xian Chang'an in the 9th century as well.
OMG, video is so long winded. In short, Tibet became part of China from 13th century on. British-India attacked Tibet twice in late 18th century and early 19th century. both times Tibet lost and the British negotiated treaty with China, not Tibet. Dalai Lama said Tibet is part of China. No country recognized Tibet in the past or present. The uprise was influenced by foreign powers which China crushed. Tibet is already free. Only the extremist/separatist Tibetans is pushing this agenda.
the concept of nation was not in the minds of the Tibetans until the last century. So the notion of "the Tibetan empire" is not only an anachronism, but a modern-day fabrication only to serve certain groups' political ineterests.
The curent dalai lama only started to resort to rhetorics of nonviolence in the early 80s after the US military support to Dharamsala stopped. The dalai then switched his strategy to making appeals to the upper middle class in Europe and the North America.
The inner/outer Tibet division was yet another British scam to divide and weaken, by way of instilling local conflicts, regions of the world that stood in the way of its colonial interests. In this case, it also used blatant lies.
Wow, Tibetan went trough so much hardship! It's time for them to be lived free!!!
