Some people just cant be mature enough to give the show a chance, and the bronies want people to know the show is not crap. Hell if I was told me a year ago that I would be a diehard fan of a My Little Pony series, I would have punched them.

The fandom does have subgroups, especially if you're going to use the term "MLP fan" as opposed to bronies, as I'm sure at least 95% of all bronies CANNOT STAND anything pony that isn't "Friendship is Magic" (aka G4). I know I can't. Everything that's not G4 is terrible. So you could say that bronies are a subfandom of the MLP fandom that shuns the rest of its parent fandom. And bronies still have there own subsets, just not as major ones. So, I don't see your point.

As for your other point, yeah, it's presence will wane eventually, but the bronies have already been around for a year and the fandom/community is still growing quite quickly. Also, we're based around a TV show, which the vast majority of actually really enjoy, and the show doesn't show signs of stopping anytime soon. So, to put it pretty much the same way I said it before, being a brony isn't some fad, it's a fandom just like any other, and so will stick around.
