  • First of all, don't you need to remove the reflective material on the original headlight housing? Secondly, how are the lights holding up now that you have them installed?

  • @dakotapollard What do you mean remove reflective material? Like the corner reflector?

Anyway I had these headlights on my R/T until I sold it in August. It held up to the elements and showed no signs of moisture inside the headlight

  • @dakotapollard Some people like to paint the stock reflector flat black for a different look. Looks nice and really sets off the shrouds that cover the projector's sides.

  • how much a pair for the projectors?

  • That is not a wrench bro.

  • Great vid and thanks for posting. But, how would you know the aim is correct without doing any testing?

  • @888forme Of coarse you will need to test them on your vehicle before seal the lens back on. If you have a good headlight all you will need to do is adjust the cut off line and the headlight it's self will allow you to adjust the beam of light up down and left to right

  • @burningpoop ... That didn't make sense. What I meant to say is if you have a good headlight, then all you will need to do with the projector is adjust the cut off line so it is parallel with the ground, as far as the light being to high or to far to the right. All you need to do (given that you didn't install the projector at an angle in the housing) is adjust the beam of light using your headlights adjustments

  • @burningpoop But the projector is mounted, so how do I supposed to adjust the aim?

  • my circles around my project domes are going out. anyway to fix?

  • i had a question if anybody could help me...my headlights are 9007 and i know these use a H1 type bulb..i know theres an adapter plate, but what i dont understand how does the adapter help? how would i connect it to my cars headlight?

  • @jerry2peluda Assuming your using a HID set up, at TRS they have a 9007 wiring harness that plugs into your ballast, which plugs into your bulb. The wiring harness also controls the high / low beam feature of the projectors, so it will need to be wired to a power source.

  • great n informative video, would you mind if i post this on our auto forum?

  • @davidgian9165 Yea share it all you want

  • Do the washers and brackets that come with the kit lock the projector such that it is rotationally level, or is there room for error? I haven't seen much discussion on the Dakota retrofits I've found mentioning how to get the beam cutoff absolutely level.

Thanks for doing the videos, they are much appreciated!

  • "how the hell you gonna get that piece on - if that shit's in the way" hah good line, I lold. Considering purchasing from the retrofit store myself - they been good to you?

  • lol thats not a wrench

nice retro tho, almost went mini's but got fxr instead

  • Great vid! how good is the light on the road?

  • @deadbeat86

The light output it great, can't even compare them to stock.

  • it came out nice.. where did u get the projectors though?

  • @YouAintMyDaddy1

    The Retrofit Source

  • no shit, thats pretty cool there are no after market headlights available for my truck, i might take a crack at making some of my own :)
