  • i love this car so much hermm

  • the 1970-1977 Toyota Celica was assembled in

    Toyota, Japan

  • I have a green 1977 GT Liftback (: I love that car... Probably gonna do an engine swap as soon as I get the money. JDM 2JZ-GTE

  • One of the better looking car designs as far as I am concerned, I read how they rust out but if you compare them to american cars of this era, I surely don't see any vega's, chevette's or pinto's on the road these days but I still see a few toyota's of that vintage around because they could go 3 to 5 hundred thousand miles and the others lucky to hit 150 thousand. Well atleast American cars are improving while toyota's are going the other way. Willys and IH could have competed but no longer made

  • the transmission on the 1970-1977 Toyota Celica

    Transmission

    4-speed W40 manual

    5-speed W50 manual

    3-speed A40 automatic

  • 135 horsepower 2 liter engine, 5 speed, 35 mpg, thats up to date with most 2.0 of our time now

  • looks an american car

  • かっこいい

  • Has anyone bought this Toyota car before.

  • @alanisgirl2010 Are You kidding? To this day they're still liked and sought after cars. They were very popular in california, I remember seeing lots of them around, and they're actually very well built, better than the new toyota's in that ti seemed tighter and made with a lot less cheap plastic.

  • Sucks living in the rust belt, I've only seen a few early 80's Japanese autos in the last few months. None from prior to '79. Seems to be an okay supply of 70's Detroit iron though. Indeed, in the long run, thick high-grade steel will trump quality engineering.

  • Maybe but yeah it should be enough to buy a excellent condition but it also depends on where you get it.

  • well i got mine from Virginia bought it at a junk yard and restored it but if your looking for one go to national auctions for cars they usually have one which ranges about 700-1800$ depending on where you go.

  • @MrMetalking420 thanks, well, i have around $1800 to spend, is it enough for one in good condition?

  • I have one at my house right now its orange like the general Lee all though im going to paint it black and i was also going to pick between a V8 or a v10 if it will fit not much room in it, its a good car but how the economy is right now keeping it a 4banger is a good idea if anyone gets a car like 76 celica dont give it away or sell it you will regret it.

  • @MrMetalking420 go for a lexus GS V8, it would fit it!!!! since it is a comp controled engine , it would make it a true tuner/musclecar hybrid!!!

  • @MrMetalking420 hey, i am wandering, do you know any places where I can get one as I want one as a first car and am heading down to FL in august.

  • only if the new celica's were rwd like this one!!!

  • I always thought these cars looked good...they almost resemble a 69-70 Mustang fastback.

  • @hoss861 well, initally the Japanese got their design cues from american cars, hence their resembelance.

  • That thing looks like a damn muscle car. Put a Chevy V8 in it and it'll be good to go.

  • @JetForceF22

from the 60s way up to the late 70s early 80s

everything looked like a muscle car ;)

  • @JetForceF22 or a Lexus IS-F V8!!!

  • 36 mpg?! is that a 4 or 6 cyl?

  • @Sonicku 4 cyl

  • @Sonicku It's a four

  • i'll love to have one of those

  • 36mpg that's pretty ok for today's standard

  • i hate toyota but thats a pretty cool car. i wonder if the people in japan consider these classics and appeciate them like we do with ours lol

  • my celica is a 76 but its not a lift back
